The servants have their own room in the mansion. I think there's also a servant's room in the guest house but only those assigned on duty in the guest house will stay there.

Nanjo, Gohda and Kumasawa don't live on the island, but if for some reason they can't get back to the mainland they usually stay in the guest house.

If I remember correctly, in one interview Ryu-chan also said that he told "truth" to Manga writers too.
If he let Manga staffs know that, then why not Anime staffs too... but that's only my guess.

I watched a short video a long time ago when it was still the Higurashi hype. It showed Ryukishi-san being interviewed and we actually get a shot of his house with his family.

Maybe if it's not against the rules, I can upload it on YouTube when I get home.
