Finally, the topic is up!
Anyway, did not expect the ED to change so much. But for the better I think. Though honestly I feel there is not enough character. Though the OP felt pretty underwhelming instead. But that suicidal girl, they managed to salvage her plot thread in less of an episode. Well done. I was wondering how they are going to fit her back in. |

Kind of disappointed by the opening, I usually warm up after watching an opening a few times but I just can't get used to that one. And the ending left me rather... feeling meh, it's not something I'd go out of my way to watch or listen to unlike the three previous endings.
As for the actual episode, while I didn't think it was a really strong start to this cour, I did find it quite entertaining, even if a bit fast-paced*. It was interesting to see more on the "Nakura suicides" and it just reminded you of how much of a sociopath and troll Izaya truly is, in case you'd have forgotten. *= Could be wrong though, I haven't read the novels so I've no idea how much content the city vacation has.

Izaya you fucking troll, spreading rumors Shizuo has daughter and a girlfriend. You are lucky Shizuo doesn't watch TV else he'll come for you.
Akane is obviously the daughter... Sigh~ Somebody is gonna end up in the river wearing concrete boots isn't it? Shinra and Celty got an adventure with werewolves and vampires which likely relates to Ruri. |

ITT: Izaya almost dies and nobody even cares! ...Excect the ones super bitter enough to come and put him out of his misery.
I really like how smoothly this episode transitioned right from last season in to this one. It's really like it never ended. Last edited by Iron Maw; 2015-07-06 at 00:12. |

^ Yep, shit happens and it doesn't let up.
The episode is another reminder of why Izaya is what he is, and we get to see a flashback from way back into Episode 1 of Season 1. However, aside from Izaya being Izaya and Celty getting a rather "normal" vacation, everything has changed. Mikado's no longer the same guy, Anri is slowly treading into Yakuza territory, Kida's damage control is not working, and the Yakuza are more cautious than ever now that the younglings have shown what they are capable of. Worse, it seems that Aoba is trying to exchange contacts with Celty and Shinra. By the way, it seems that Vorona was rescued by a couple of guys with masks. It's too quick to pin down, so I have no idea which group delivered the rescue. As for the new theme songs, I think the OP is weaker than Headhunt and Uragiri no Yuuyake, but it reminds me of the more somber Season 1 OP2. The ED, at least, is better than the ED for Shou.

Ahaha, loved the call scene between Izaya and Shinra. Too bad they didn't also show that Celty was changing outfits during the calls, which was why Shinra was so frustrated.
Wasn't expecting Manami to look like that. It's like a female Hinata Shouyo... And I'm never going to get used to the dents and pointy chins on all the characters' faces. |
