The problem has to do with the fact that it felt like Ken Akamatsu was rushing the climax portion in order ensure that the MW arc was finished before the release of the film.

Well, hopefully after this we will finally get to see a proper Negima anime series on tv that is closer to the manga, like Bleach, One Piece, and Naruto, and get to see the proper introduction of Kotaro, the Chao arc and more scenes from the vacation and introduciton of Anya and the Magic world arc, because those ova skip some major parts. Of couse it would need to get a proper time slot.

Akamatsu has said this is the last anime for the foreseeable future. Don't hold your breath waiting.

Personally, I'm hoping that there would be no anime adaptation anymore, at least until the manga is properly concluded. Let KA focus on the manga and not get distracted by anime deadlines again (which didn't do the movie anime much good).

When it's finish, then an animated adaptation will be welcome. Preferably from the start, and by someone who had read the manga as a whole and would not mistook it as only a harem comedy. Again.

I found news about the negima movie to be extended by 40 mins. I got this info from myanimelist.net.

"According to the twitter of Akamatsu Ken, the DVD edition of Mahou Sensei Negima! Anime Final will be 84 min long, extended by about 40 min from the original version shown at the theaters. Akamatsu added that the lines of the characters were modified to make them sound smarter. The DVD will be released on February 17th 2012.

I am now excited about the movie and it seems that it will be shown the way Ken has intended.

Whoa? 40 minutes extension? I guess there are many things got omitted during the initial movie broadcast I'm always waiting for the movie (regardless on what everyone said about the movie) so this is a great news indeed.

Did it mention if it will be released everywhere on February 17th? I'm from England and we usually take our sweet time to get things like this.

Oh no, I would never buy the English dub of this. I'm hoping for a Japanese dub with English subs to be available however :P

The movie much like the OVDs will most likely never be brought over.

The rights are much harder to get a hold of compared to a normal OVA release because it was bundled with the manga. Meaning if anyone wanted to pick it up for an English release would not only have to go through the normal c.o but the publishing c.o. It's a lot of extra time and money and for simple OVAs it's not worth the extra cash to bring over and dub.

Ken in twitter answering questions did mention that eventually individual DVD release (in Japan) is possible, matter of rights, etc.
