Hello everybody !
So my question is a little bit wide.
I'm completely new in the world of anime and manga and this is why I am here.
I need your help to start somewhere. You can suggest me anything you want I'm open to all genders. So it can be Anime/Manga/Movie/OVA. Anything what goes trough your head

It's a hard question I know but I really want to get in this world

Thank you in advance and sorry for my english because it is not my mother tongue

Off the top of my head a good place to start for anime might be the Ghibli movies.

But could you give us an idea of the sort of things you like and dislike, though, so we have some parameters to work with?

Hello my fellow Swiss.

Useful sites:
Batoto (read manga online)
AniDB (information for anime)
Manga Updates (information for manga)
MyAnimeList (Keep a list of both your manga and anime)

The best place to start is to look at the shows that are airing in the current season (for example here), pick some shows with a picture/synopsis that appeals to you and watch the first 2-3 episodes to get an impression. Continue watching everything you liked.

You can also google previous seasons ("anime list <spring/summer/fall/winter> <year>") to see if you find anything of interest from there. The shows listed in this thread are a good starting point.

One more thing: If anyone gives you a "must-watch" list, screw that. Take a look at the shows first, and if they don't appeal to you, simply don't watch them. You should always watch what YOU like.

All must-watch list are also useful for me because I want to try everything and if I don't like it I will not continue it's normal

My first anime was Speed Racer :/ Well then I watched Dragon Ball Z :/

So really my anime watching days started with Sword Art Online, and I will suggest that. After that I watched Attack on Titan, and this is the show that got me into anime. After AoT i have been hooked and have foun many great anime thanks to the people on this forum.

So in closing I suggest:
Sword Art Online
Attack on Titan

After you watch these I/we will have many more suggestions for you!
