I lol'd at Kanzai blowing up at Pariston, Pariston is such an arse. I think it's fitting that Netero picked him as vice-chairman, because Netero's a bored old man and would look for any challenge or opposition.
As for Alluka, "give me your liver! Your duodenum! Your brain!" Wow. And that face, that face.... Swear she was playing with a Sailor Moon figure too, and Killua playing with darts was a nice callback to the Ant arc where he said he learnt darts when he was younger during his fight with the twins. |

So they called Alluka their fifth brother yet in this episode they refer to her as sister? Eh, I'll just accept she's female since there's a huge lack of female family members in the Zoldyck.
Honestly, this has to be the most frightening Hatsu we've seen so far. It's still pretty vague even after explaining how it functions, but it limits aren't well defined yet. |

All in all, it's an accurate translation.

The only who referred to her as a sister was Killua. Silva and the rest didn't use any gender-specific pronouns in this episode. But Illumi definitely called Alluka their brother when talking to Hisoka in the previous episode, which leads to the conclusion that, for whatever reason, there's no consensus among the Zoldycks what Alluka is/should be called.

That is, however, all I will say about the matter because I've TOTALLY had enough of all the "Is it an asspull or not." debate. I'm just sharing my stance on the matter this once. It's not an asspull, whether you think it is or not doesn't change the fact that there is, in fact, buildup, and also the fact that it does not invalidate the hero's efforts (as a rule, all Deus Ex Machina invalidate the hero's efforts). The best argument one could possibly come up with is "Lame development.". And really people should stop being afraid to refer to things as "Lame development.", despite what you may think, Togashi fanboys are actually not rabid. |

It is an aspull. It wasn't foreshadowed at all. I mean, we had hints that there was another sibling in Killua's family if I remember correctly, but her powers were never hinted at. Now it's just a convenient solution to an otherwise unsolvable problem.

Hm hm...
Ok, it's harder than I thought to let this go. So I'm just going to limit myself to explaining WHY I don't view it as such, since people seem to have misinterpreted me. What other people think is up to them, but at the very least I do not want people to think I said one thing when I said something entirely different. Disclaimer: I was NEVER the one to use the lame "But we already knew there were five brothers" defense. That argument is lame and totally irrelevant to the situation. I will however add this little side note that it would have been less believable if it was an outright retcon, which in the end, it isn't. It merely expanded on an open hook that was there all the time. True: Her ability was not alluded to before. True: Her ability is ridiculously powerful. Not True: The hero doesn't have to do anything himself to solve the problem. Not True: The problem is resolved before or immediately after her ability is revealed. That is all. The "missing buildup" that people keep talking about is something that is currently still in progress. In fact, the story goes out of its way to explain how she is going to save Gon well before it actually happens. Think of it what you will, but I hope people don't misunderstand what my stance is anymore. |

Anyway, it's clear to me Alluka is male. The translator made the right choice having everybody except Killua refer to her as male.
