Back on topic, anyone who is against snaggletooth doesn't know how to appreciate the moe trait of of lolicious cuteness. It is like preferring to eat an overripe fruit just because the partially ripe one has tougher skin or is slightly sour.

All those Korean-ran "asian food" restaurants in US put them on menu as "donkatsu", but that's a bastardised spelling of Korean pronunciation mixed with the original Japanese katsu.

I'm Chinese so I'll try it.

Point is though, it doesn't taste bad at all- quite the opposite in fact. But the problem comes when the mixture starts to look like seagull puke... Or really just any old puke.

Apparently it's not something normal people do, and I didn't know this until twenty years later

I would attribute crooked teeth to lower usage/pressure of cosmetic and correctional dentistry or other external unnatural factors like what Genji said. To say Japanese naturally have worse teeth than others (at such high rates, at least) would be a textbook example of "correlation does not imply causation".

But seriously, the only times I remember seeing braces in animation is as an audience cue of immaturity or awkwardness (since most people who get traditional, visible braces are younger teens). Which would depend on the culture the animation came from.
