I never had been a fan of Sailor Moon the anime. Its lead pissed me off to no end. The Monters of the Week were beyond ridiculous, and let's not talk about fillers. Also Chibi Usa.

Color me surprised when I found out that it was directed by the director of Utena, that I liked way better. Overall, Sailor Moon the anime was my least favorite work by Ikuhara, for reasons mentioned above. Now I hope that this remake stay close to the manga. However, the news of JoJo animated series have been much more interesting for me.

Do you have any english sources on that, it sounds interesting.
It's actually from the renewal version of the manga itself.

Ikuhara didn't really have creative input on Sailor Moon. It was a tightly franchised production with toy and manga companies involved. I've heard he was actually pretty pissed off at that.

........that little brat. Maybe she'll be less annoying this time around....though I seriously doubt it. She annoyed me in the manga too. Even her character description in the artbook reads "Impertinent and bratty; she loves to play tricks on people".

Now the question is who to direct? While a lot of people love Ikuhara, I personally loved the original so I have a liking towards Junichi Satou. Or would it be someone totally new?

Oh? This is interesting, I wonder what the chances of it getting localized are.

Kotono Mitsuishi has confirmed in her blog (link above) that we will not see the Dark Kingdom in the anime.
That's, uh, an interesting way of following the manga more closely.

THIS IS A GROSS MISINTERPRETATION PLEASE STOP REPUBLISHING IT
She just talked about how her own "enemy" this time won't be Dark Kingdom, but rather she herself, working hard on performance back in the day. She basically speaks about how she's hoping she will be able to live up with her acting to what she did before.

Seem like the reboot bug thats been sweeping Hollywood may have found it's way east which kind of scares me...sure while the fans celebrate, evil grows, they will soon come to despise. The dawn of a thousand rehashed sequels approaches and they will suspect nothing until it is too late....

Anyway I'm one of those who really don't know what to expect from this.

When I was much younger I liked the anime even before I knew what anime was but as I got older I really started noticing a lot of flaws the show had which made me look into the manga which I ended up liking more.

However it did sadden me to learn that the mangaka couldn't do what she really wanted with the story because she was handicapped by the anime.

Also many of the Japanese over on their sites and forums are actually asking why even do this but these may not be the target audience anyway.

My body is fully ready for this.

I just hope this doesn't bother with anything Sailor Moon S and beyond. At that point, the series got stupid.

I see, sorry! Fixed it.
Though that makes me kind of relieved (for now)

What? S was the best arc in the anime.
And in the manga, it only got better from there.

I always enjoyed the movies, or at least R (I think it was R... they were on a moon or something similar and everyone was dying... but I think that might basically be a part of each of the movie's plots). Always liked Venus, so I suppose I'll give it a good watch. Will be interesting to see if my tastes in the Sailor Scouts has changed in the last 10 years or so.

I wonder if recent advances in astronomy will affect the anime, since you know, Pluto is no longer a planet (and pluto's moon, charon is HUGE when you consider pluto's size) and other "dwarf planets" like pluto have been discovered in our solar system.
