We don't know that. Some characters thought that she's from the future, but it wasn't explicitly confirmed and it... really doesn't work without a few retcons. Especially considering that they were aiming at the Another World theory before this.

This is the Eureka from original TV series.
Nirvash is actually a mechanical copy made by Renton.
She came from the original world by accident and this is actually her first appearance here from her point of view, she will travel back in time to 13 years ago after that, presumably through a scub burst if ep12 is anything to go by.

You can replace E7 with almost any mecha anime title and still have it hold true sadly.

My main issue was just not being able to get into the cast or world (something I had no problem with with the original) at all no matter how hard I tried. For me that was a pretty big deal, but lately things are getting a lot more interesting so I just hope it holds up.

That's fair. I mean we don't have nearly the amount of episodes this time around though one can argue that most shows in this length can do just that, so maybe the cast in AO are just aren't that interesting in the long run, they're certainly getting there especially Elena but we'll see.

Exactly. And top of not being able to get into the cast, I'm treated to nudity of varying degrees as a trade-off for more time with character depth or just more time seeing a character be themselves. Gets frustrating after a while.

There's a difference between true time travel (moving up and down the timeline of a single world line) and quantum parallel travel to Another World that is at a different time compared to the traveller's frame of reference.

This is where all our confusion comes from. We've no idea what theory is AO using, beyond hints from E7 that this is probably the Another World theory.

The reason why E7 had more epic battles than E7:Ao is due to the fact that in E7 the gecko is a rebel group while Gen Blue is a official, state recognized organization. Gen Blue can't really fight against any nation but the Gecko did fight against a massive military.

For many reasons, how the characters were presented, what was implied to be at stake and so on and so forth.
Like... in Eva NERV is an organization, but aren't the fights there quite "epic"?
AO fails to make you invest in the warring sides and that leads to the battles themselves not being particularly interesting. Not to mention that situations in E7 were all different, in AO it has almost Power Rangers-like quality. Fight non-descript monster each episode on the schedule with vague stakes, rinse, repeat.

Poor Renton, he'll never live that down. Maybe when he gets a chance to appear in person he can be a badass.

I thought that was endearing. Besides... Renton was badass plenty of times on screen.

Something strikes me as odd about what this episode means for the next story arc (13 episodes):

If I understand this episode correctly, the Scub Burst that's caused when Eureka and Ao defeat Truth will transport Eureka into the past of this world, where she'll give birth to Ao. Unless this is the point where they break this time loop, doesn't this mean that Eureka won't be present for the second half of the series? Or will the Scub Burst happen at a different point in time? (Perhaps at the end of the series?)

Okay uhhh... Let's look at this from Eureka's POV.
- Eureka comes to AO world in 2025
- Goes through a scub burst to 2012 (did not happen on screen yet, speculated)
- Gives birth to Ao
- Disappears in 2015
We still aren't exactly sure where she is after that are we?
