Al did it with Tran-zam. The Terminator Exia would probably explode if Setsua tried to Tran-zam, and the Ahead + GN-XIII were all better units compared to the original GN-X.

Doublelujah was also fighting suits that were only slightly less advanced than the Gundams. The Ahead and the GN-XIII are more advanced than the Third Generation Gundams.

Something tells me you're not a fan of the show.

Eh...it's vaguely entertaining, and Sumeragi makes for nice fanservice. But other than that, it's not epic enough.

Epic enough? What were you expecting, GaoGaiGar? Gurren-Lagann?

I do believe that excluding G-Gundam, no Gundam series are about being "Epic".

Epic to the point of "HOLYSHIT THAT'S A POWERFULGUNDAM! LOOK AT ALL THOSE KABOOMS!"

Epic to the point of that the only way to beat a gundam is with another gundam.

Epic to the point of iconic duels.

Epic to the point of having characters that are actually memorable.

And in general, epic to the point of that you know the good guys are going to win without a scratch, but it's just fun to see them blow everything up anyway.

Don't expect gundams with hissatsu attack practically raping everyone.

It is no fun without challenge, they might as well show you the strike freedom destroying grunts with endless loops.

Go watch G-Gundam then.

You know... I've seen people wondering why Setsuna didn't use Trans-Am in S2 Episode 1... And I think there's also a logical reason beyond just a plot device. These were my thoughts on another forum...

Quote:
As for Setsuna and not using Exia's Trans-Am in S2 Episode 1. It was probably a tactical decision on his part, which I happen to agree with. First off. Exia is in a serious state of disrepair and it's combat capability is virtually 10-20% of it's original capacity. Add in the fact that Exia was potentially outnumbered 3 to 1 and you have a recipe for disaster if he was incapable of destroying all 3 with Trans-Am. Because remember, Trans-Am is a double edged sword, because after it is expended, it leaves the suit in an extremely weakened state. It's a very risky purposal to use it in such a damaged suit, with no support, ect. See my point?

Gundam Seed Destiny.
No thank. This is Gundam 00.

Wow, pick any Macross series and you'll have one; "Love" was even in the title of one of the movies and one of the OVAs: "Do You Remember Love?", "Lovers Again". There are plenty of prominent examples like Full Metal Panic, Escaflowne, RahXephon, Kannazuki, Nadesico, Aquarion, Stellvia, etc. with more romance than Gundam.

Fanservice != panty shots. Fanservice has always been part of Gundam (even the original series had some nudity ), but it mostly consists of bouncing, large breasts, so it's not as blatant as ecchi series.

Well, great episode. The only problems I had with it were Soma (whom I came to respect by the end of 00) in a less dignified position towards the end, the ED credits, which showed what seemed to be a living Chris and Licht, and Setsuna's ambigious line to to the brother at the end of the episode.
I'm expecting the latter two to be cleared up sometime soon, but the first will always be etched into my head ;_;.
Spoiler for End of the episode:

While it's not "resurrection" persay, I still feel a bit cheated.

Those aside, I thought it was an excellent start to what will hopefully be an excellent continuation. The budget is through the roof again with the same amazing animation, music will likely be as perfectly fitting as the first season, a first episode that creates a basis and interest.
Soo looking forward to the next episode.

That part with Chris and Lichty was merely the OP going through the past. Notice they also show Neil and the previous Gundams.

Yeah, that's what I was hoping. *wipes forehead*
And I noticed that it was a bit too dynamic for an ED.

I really want to see what's up with those skinny bishounen in white, though. The one with the teal hair accompanied Alejandro, and now there seems to be more of them... It's a conspiracy!

Those would be the Innovators. We haven't been told what they are, but they seem to be behind alot. Also, they come in pairs.

Ah, now I know why Saji and Louise were there in the 1st place. I thought they're there simply for annoyance (read: Shinn Asuka).

Best OP ever. Lots of speculation that can be made, but for everyone's sake, let's just leave it at that.

I used to LOVE Lockon (Neil). Now all my eyes are set only for Setsuna (too bad, he's got his only for Gundam...)
