Mmm what most of your sig lacks is blending. Your render doesn't blend in to the bg. And the escaping fate one with rika has white edges on the render.
And you can just save them as a Jpeg, unless it's a popout sig, or a animated one. Saving statics as a gif is a really a no go imo. You lose quality and gain nothing for it. And mm try some other fonts.

Are you sure you tried installing them the right way?
And actually the fonts don't come with photoshop they come with windows :P Just in case you need instructions: Open control panel then fonts and then upper left corner file and install new fonts. You really shouldn't have any problems when installing fonts like that |

Well i set a new layer on top of all the other layers, use the rectangular marquee tool and make a rectangle around the whole sig/avatar.. and then right click and click on stroke, set the width to 1 or 2px...sorry, im not good at explaining things. xD
