But I'll admit, I did consider that considering how cliche IS is they'd eventually:

- introduce aliens at some point
- reveal how Tabane reverse-engineered the IS from the White Knight
- which was actually of extraterrestrial origins

It was going to be a springboard for the End of Shooting Star full length novel. It would be a long treatise about how IS affected Mankind and by the efforts of Shooting Star's intervention of warfare culminating in destroying Lucifer's underground manipulation of the world promoted the lasting unification of the UN. Just in time for an epic fight for survival against aliens with Macross overtones. By that time, Phantom Task is an ally and renamed the Task Braves.

So go and have fun with them in your story. You won't find them in mine beyond a very long cop-out a long way off. If I can even FINISH Shooting Star as a fic, then I'll consider bringing in aliens.

Class 1-2 Homeroom

“Er...” Chief Engineer Maximillan cleared his throat, desperately seeking a way out of his flabbergastration.

On the other side, thirty one pairs of female eyes temporarily placated by the presence of senior teacher Brown were slicing him apart with laser precision. Yes, it was the weirdest possible conscription assignment in the history of the Little Red Dot. While he was still a Singapore Armed Forces combat engineer by vocation, ISA security protocol required most if not all residents above the age of 14 on the island to either be staff or student... Which was how he ended here, at the front desk, as teacher assistant.

“Shall we start homeroom?”

Another silence. Max was convinced that this was karma seeking his blood for all the times he messed with his teachers.

“Ahem...” The boy tried again. “I’m Maximillan and I’ll be your engineering instructor and assistant homeroom teacher for this year.”

There was a pregnant pause. The air was so intense you could slice it with a beam saber. No one reacted.

“I... look forward to working with all of you.”

Max gave a short bow at the end, according to what he thought was Japanese custom being paraded prominently over half a century of anime. The boy decided that maybe a formal greeting would have been an effective means to break the ice.

“KYAAAAAA!!”

It was super effective?!

“What a cool voice!”
“Does he have a girlfriend?”
“Are you trying for something forbidden?!”
“He’s got silver hair too!”
“I bet he sparkles in the sun!”

“I’m not a vampire...” Max griped.

A loud bang silenced the class, as Brown slammed her fist into the digital board.

“Year in, year out, idiots, all of you! Orimura would be glad to know that pea-brained maggots aren’t only attending her class.”

I know you’re from the US military, Max pondered. But isn’t calling your students maggots a little too harsh?

“Maximillan,” Brown thumbed towards the blackboard. “You haven’t displayed your name yet.”

The man in the hot spot bristled, looking hesitantly at the senior, then at his students.

“Well? You can’t host an introduction without properly doing one yourself.”

Brown looked serious. However, notice how Maximillan had been careful not to use his first name.

The boy turned back to the thirty one expectant looks. One of them, without anyone else noticing, was certainly taking pleasure from his grilling. He knew that for sure.

There was no escape. Max touched his console, and prayed that no one in the class was good enough with Japanese to read:

But to his dismay, there was a subtitle:

Out of thirty one girls in class 20 had come from overseas. English and Chinese were common languages. And the crowd obviously went wild.

“Aww...”
“That’s so cute!!”
“At least its not Gaylord!”

Marvel-kun looked to Rachael to save him, ad immediately knew there’d be none. She was smirking. Military Instructor Brown was having her little bit of fun as well.

Not reverse engineered per-se, but more like copied it's outward appearance and replicated similar functions through its own biological processes.

It's like seeing a hamster, and making your own self look like it as best you can. It may not be exactly the same, but it functions much in the same way. Homologous structuring maybe?

I thought of making an IS that has quite a few technology straight out of one of my imagination world...but those technology is not used by human...(5000 years ago,a god level tech alien has successfully created human with ability to transform into immortal steel warrior,literally,to protect mankind.Now,they have become 8 species of badass which consist of beam-spammer,nuclear-lover,chemical meltdowner,muscleman,hover crafter,super physicist,tesla people,and of course,kinetic user)

You go ahead. When I said "can't be more obvious" I meant that I am evidently ripping the whole setup for the aliens out of somewhere else.

hmmm Fanfic idea.

Ichika some how can't use his Byakushiki anymore, because some organization inputs a malware on his IS's OS. To compensate the OC helps to restore and runs a debug mode on the Byakushiki.Which helps Ichika to operate his IS again, but it on the default setting or [SAFE MODE] of Byakushiki.

But, an unknown feature was locked. Ichika's IS program module can adapt and synchronize with the other IS example if Ichika shakes hand with Cecilia his IS module will copy Blue Tears weaponry and ability

The draw back of this when Ichika is using the ability other girl(s) IS they get aroused Being Ichika he do not notice a thing

Madoka... Reminds me of the initial design of a certain 2nd year OC who is very onee-san-like and pilots a majestic IS. She looks out for the young ones a lot. She intervenes in a Phantom Task attack so that the out-matched juniors can escape.

The fight is won, but her head was blown off by a railgun.

Of course Tk (and the whole chatroom) then gunned me down so hard I turned her into a generic onee-chan character who's inexplicably afraid of caterpillars and Charlotte.

Damn that is pretty epic.

Likely, my FF will take place in and around ISA, as a pretty dramatic invasion force slowly builds up. Of course, everyone is hit pretty hard initially, as the "little guys" break into the academy. Grim blood and gore on par with Dead Space ensues, and the team manages to secure an safe haven of sorts.
The AIS begin to appear, and as such, so do the IS battles. Likely, they'll have to board the mothership above by the end, and take it out personally. Already I can tell this will be fun to do.
But stereotypical. Obviously.

A short post-series kind of thing

1200H, Over Manila Bay.

A lone Containership from a distant country was in the safe haven of one of the world’s best natural harbours, sailing along towards it’s next port of call- the bustling seaport of Manila South. And what seemed to be a routine day on the ship was moments later, broken by the heavy banging of metal on metal. On the bridge, the crew saw the cause of the noise- two of the so-called “Infinite Stratos” or IS Units duking it out on top of the container stacks.

“Attention all crew members, attention all crew members... we have IS on deck, i repeat, we have IS on deck.” The Captain’s words echoed throughout the ship.

The IS units at fault now have their weapons locked, unmoving, both of them refusing to move. And upon closer inspection, these two were like complete opposites- the one holding the spear looked more like bird costume than the other one, which one IS-knowledgeable crew member identified as the National Representative of the Country they were in. The other one, who was holding a sword,was identified as something similar to the old Revive-Class Common use IS, but with extreme modification.

“Attention to the two IS pilots.” The captain then spoke over the PA as the two managed to unlock themselves and proceeded to attack each other again. “Please get off the containers before you shake them loose.”

“You heard that Maria?” The pilot of the Modified Revive spoke over the intercom as she managed to trip her by kicking at her shin and sending her to the container stack with a thud. “The Captain said that we need to get off the containers!” And with that, she picked her opponent up and tossed her back out to sea. And after saying her apologies she sped off to where she had tossed her.

Meanwhile, the tossed unit was speeding along the water, mere meters from the surface. Maria, as its pilot was called, was scanning the horizon for signs of her opponent- before she hit the bounced off the surface of the water. As soon as she regained altitude, she stood up and began to slow her speed down- and just in time, as she almost hit the side of the famed Manila Bay “Concrete Battleship” named “Fort Drum”, as the sign above her indicated. Moments later, energy shots came from the sky, almost hitting her if she had not moved. And in an instant, the Battleship rocked as her Revive opponent came out of nowhere and almost slammed her along the side.

“You’re getting dull now it seems.” Maria’s opponent again spoke.

“Not really Elena.” came the reply.

Moments later, a warning message appeared in Elena’s sight.

[INCOMING]

Elena quickly removed herself just in time, as a Drone Sword passed by where she was moments earlier- barely missing her by inches. Several more swords appeared out of nowhere and proceeded to harass her. Sword blocks from every direction began to wear her down, distracting her long enough for Maria to gain some altitude. By the time Elena managed to shake off the annoyances, her opponent was nowhere to be found.

“You’re cloaked right now I’d reckon. Drones were always your best bet in fighting while cloaked.” Elena yelled as she saw the drones turn from yellow to black, and then vanish. “But then...”

[Equipping: Drone Control Unit]

The shimmer associated with opening up an IS from it’s “harmless” “closed form” began to manifest on a small part of the back of Elena’s unit, finally realizing into what seemed to be an antenna mount. Moments later, five blue-colored, shield-shaped drones appeared into the scene via a similar shimmer and began to orbit her, identifying them as hers.

“You were always...” She then spoke as the drones pointed backwards. “Trying to sneak up on me when you’re like that!”

And so went the drones, heading towards what seemed to be an empty patch of sky, which then shimmered with the decloaking of enemy drones. As the seconds ticked by, what seems to be a look of expectation on Elena’s face slowly turned into worry.

[INCOMING]

Just in the nick of time, as multiple energy shots came out from behind her, one managing to hit on the unit’s shield. Elena could only evade as more shots came in, forcing her to keep close to the surface of the water.

“Now this is something. You actually learned something out of the Academy.”

“Oh shut up.” Maria, who was at some distance, her IS now colored black, muttered as she kept shooting, and now sent her drones to attack as well.

But since Maria was too absorbed in shooting, Elena’s drones, which had been de-aggressed earlier (since Maria’s drones went and attacked Elena instead), managed to sneak up around her, decloaking at a cruicial moment. Hair-thin energy streams then projected from the drones, wrapping her in some sort of field that visually distorted the air around the IS, slowing it’s travel speed, as the holographic screen indicated. She tried to move forward but it was slow, so instead, she quickly aimed at the drones, trying to shoot them down, but they were too fast. Moments later, due to Maria attempting to shoot down the drones, Elena managed to place herself within meters of her opponent, grinning. Upon seeing her, Maria lowered her beam weapon.

“And so this time, it’s my win it seems.” Elena snickered as she ran her hand long Maria’s left cheek. “Finally after a long chain too. Sooo... what should I do next? do you have any ideas?”

“How about losing?” Maria responded, along with a kick to the shin, which was promptly dodged by Elena by jumping backwards and doing a backflip as well.

“Nonononono. That is not a good id-”

[INCOMING]

“-damn”

One of Maria’s drones slammed into her, sending her hurtling towards the sea. She barely managed to recover, managing a standing position before bouncing hard on the surface of the water multiple times. She managed to right herself and skid on the surface of the water backwards. And as she stopped, Maria was rushed in, back to yellow and spear drawn- eventually locking each other again.

“You know, you’re really irritating sometimes.” Maria then commented as she tried to push Elena.

“You too you know.” Elena answered back. “Why don’t you let loose for a while or let me wi-”

The speaker amplified growling of a hungry stomach echoed in the air, followed by the blushing of Elena. Maria then moved back a bit and lowered her weapon, which the hungry one then followed. The two then looked around, as if trying to see if there are any other witnesses.

“And what time is it?” Maria then opened a line.

“12:15 in the afternoon.” was Elena’s reply.

“And where is the closest landfall that we can make from here?”

“Let me see...” Elena then replied, with her opening a map of the area via her monitor. “The nearest is Port Sangley.”

“That can only mean one thing...”

A few silent seconds passed until...

“Uncle John’s American-Style Diner!” the two happily spoke in unison.

A few silent seconds again passed and then, Elena was now speeding towards the direction of land.

“Hey come back!”

“First one in gets to order!” Elena replied back, sticking out her tongue.

And we go to Port Sangley, one of the country’s major ports and home of it’s Navy. One of the known places to eat is Uncle John’s American-Style Diner, which, like the sign says, serves American-Style Diner food, and in the proper setting as well- as this diner is one. Our two IS were now on approach, passing over the docks and cranes and making people stop and wave at them. They eventually landed in the parking lot in front of the diner, closing their IS and shifting back to what seemed to be their Jersey wear- instead of the skintight suit they usually wear during IS operation.

“Welcome back girls.” Uncle John, the American owner of the diner greeted the girls as they entered. The other patrons gave their greetings in the form of a simple wave or a nod, indicative that they are used to seeing them. “And what would it be today? The usual?”

“We...” Elena spoke up as Maria merely grumbled. “Will try the steak... again.”

“Oh really?” Uncle John chucked as he eyed Elena with a “are you serious” look on his face. “Are you serious? the last time you two tried it, you needed to rest for an hour before you flew off.”

“Her idea.” Maria blurted out.

“Well, I did warn you.”

And with that, the grill began to sizzle what seemed to be a large piece of beef. And then the two sat down on a spot beside a window and the waitress gave them a couple of glasses of water. After a few moments, the mood was nice enough for a conversation to begin.

“I heard what happened.” Elena opened. “I still can’t believe that this country managed to get another IS. And since the pilot will start in the Academy in a few months’ time, your term would be extended ‘until further notice’.”

“Yeah, yeah I’m the lucky one blah blah blah.”

“Hey, remember what we went thru together for three years. And thanks to you, I found something worthwhile to do- and my direction in life as well. If you stepped down or had your term completed, who would be my partner? I would not accept anyone else you know.”

“I guess you’re right.”

And moments later, Lunch was served- and once again, both Maria and Elena were taken down by it.

Man, Asuras, stop shooting yourself in the foot and go find some confidence somewhere. We already got the picture that half of it is all stereotypical and tropes. ...But guess what you can do?

Execute it REALLY WELL.

Make it a mystery / horror / drama / suspense / action kinda deal, and take it slow; the best Alien invasions are the ones we don't know about, until it's already happening. Theoretically, this version of Infinite Stratos could be the equivalent of Muv Luv Alternative with your aliens as the stand-ins for the BETA. Humanity would have to debate whether to make a stand, or follow through with the backup plans that's been there all along, because our Fearless Leaders knew this day would come.

Namely, a select few would straight up abandon Earth and make a break for some hidden space colony, while the rest of us get left behind to try and make a difference.

I never planned to create a doomsday scenario, but now that I think of it considering my lack of restraints, I can do whatever.

An apocalyptic type scenario where the main characters are either left or stay behind sounds wonderfully grim. I'm feeling positively antagonizing lately, so I may in fact just kill them all, or make the situation so hopeless it seems impossible to keep going forever.
