There's no unanimous motivation, each of the ten seats have their own separate agenda.

EDIT: Mamare says there's no Log Horizon update today for taking an arrow to his knee.
However, to make up for it, there will be TWO chapters next week to conclude volume 8.

.... I wonder if he's playing TES Online.

There was this booklet that you can "win" by sending in proof of purchase of the novels, and it finally arrived at the doors of Japanese readers.

Someone was kind enough to put up a summary of it.
It's a short story during the Tea Party era, where bunch of TP members got together off-line.
Kanami, KR, Suikazura, Naotsugu, and Shiroe eating at a Yakiniku BBQ restaurant.
taking place in 2015, 3 years before the Log Horizon story.

Lots of info dump....

- Kanami is, well, pretty much exactly Kanami. She looks beautiful btw.
- KR is quadrilingual, and can gather information from servers around the world. Appears to be rich, owns a SRT Viper
- Suikazura (who probably didn't get caught in the Catastrophe 3 years later) is a drunk housewife. Didn't talk much, just kept chugging beer
- Naotsugu is still in college. No pantsu talk.
- Shiroe apparently is constantly insulted by Indicus in the game (fodder glasses, mob glasses etc). Youngest member of the BBQ party
Indicus is apparently pretty in appearance, and sociable. At this point she's the adviser in Tea Party

Other content: short comics
- beach party swimsuit fan service short comic by Hara (official artist)
- short comic by Matsu Motoya (Honey Moon Logs) Charasin trying to take Marielle out to eat, but Shoryu and Naotsugu comes along, Marielle innocently toys with the boys
- short comic by Koyuki (West Wind Brigade) first knight of WWB after the Catastrophe. Boys in boys room (Sou and Dolce), girls in girls room sleeping together.
- short comic by Souchuu (Nyant's fortune recipe) about Roderic asking to test the prototype of mass-produced appearance changing potion wit Nyanta and Serara. Nyanta refuses, as he is happy with his current looks. Serara asks to be slimmer, but Nyanta tells her she's fine as she is. Serara (in lovey-dovey mode) reconsiders and refuses.

I wish I could get this booklet!

I can't help but wonder if Indicus bears a grudge towards Shiroe, for taking her role as advisor to the Tea Party (and perhaps in her eyes, her proximity to Kanami), and whether this animosity, if it exist, is part of her motivation for creating a rival organisation in Minami.

Indicus seems to be pretty asspained by everything, ever.

Something I noticed while browsing images from the Log Horizon Animation Book: from some of the art, it seems as though the anime staff planned to do a S2 pretty early on. That, or they just cut some of the art out of the anime (which I find less likely, considering that a Jap reviewer noted that William's VA seems to have been selected for a specific purpose, and from the fact that Misa's weapon is given a pretty detailed look despite not even being seen in the anime).

So the Next 2 chapters will be the last for Vol 8, So than Volume 8 should be released by the end of June.

I doubt the current story arc will be finish in 2 chapters so ,ost likely this story arc will countinue trough vol 9, much like the Goblin event earlier in vol 3=4

Let me ask you because it might seem a bit far-fetched. but i think u can actually split the series into three different main arcs because of there focus, Vol 1-5 seemed to have lead up right to the point of the adventurers settling in this world,

So i think that vol 6-10 might would focus on the consequences this world fraction caused to both the POTL and Adv and how they should deal with them.

While i think the last 5 volumes would focus on the main party involved with the cause of the world fraction and everybody trying to deal with them as well as finally focusing on how to get back home or at the very least come up with a way for some of the adv to return home.

and.... there also some adventure that want go home badly(for good reason..and i pity them for that) that they dare to use extremely insane method like that .... another POV of adventure about catastrope and its effect to them... premonition of a huge conflict in the future... i tell you.

I actually find the knights reason believable and its a good thing that Mamare added this becuase it adds more realism to the way how people would actually react to this sort of situation. I know a lot of people who would love to be transported to alternate world like elder tale but u cant expect everybody to leap with joy. i mean there are people who have lives and responsibility they just cant afford to leave behind as well as other dear things to them, family, friends, home, careers.

id say thumbs up to this, The logic behind Londark and Nyanta is also good both of them have very good valid reason to how they should react to what they should react. it gives u a glimpse of 2 contrasting but both valid perspectives to how a person reacts to the outcome of what has occurred.

Personally if i were in this situation i would probably stick to Nyanta's since of logic but i can also understand how the other adventurers who are longing for home feel. Even if they do questionable acts u have to admit u can still sympathize with them.

This chapter also brings back Krusty's "Will there be war" question. Previously the focus has always been on the Adventurers, whether they would follow a path of conquest and subjugation, or at least behave like brigands in a lawless world. However, the chapter throws a new light onto this question: what if it's the Landers themselves who desire war? Not with the Adventurers, of course, but with each other instead. What right, then, do the Adventurers have to dissuade them from fighting each other?

The answer, to Nyanta at least, is: none.

Nyanta is in the area because Shiroe and co are responsible adults who don't think it's a good idea to send four teenagers and a dog into the wild wild world without supervision. Nyanta has been following the juniors from a distance, a task made easy with his Griffin.

High level "Burned Stake" (fire spell) knocks some wyverns out of the air, and Tohya covers his teammates to shelter them from the shock fo the fallen wyvern. The frontline seemed to be stable, at first... But suddenly the line breaks, and the Odyssea Knights are forced to retreat into the town. Tohya is confused at the sudden shift of the battlefield, then spots Night Shades destroying the portable Boreas Shrine! Without the aid of the shrine, the Knights cannot recover immediately, and had to retreat. The Wyverns push forward into the town, destroying buildings. Panicked landers flee from the destruction. Tohya uses several movement increase skill to charge towards the shades, and manage to push them away. But the shrine is a lost cause, broken and unusable. This is but one of several shrines the Knights had in posession, so it's unlikely they will wipe right away. But this is obviously the Achilles's Heel for the knights, and the shades must be dealt with before they destroy more. One of the knights, a lv90 adventurer bleeding heavily and armed with a maul, charges at the nearest shade, and crush it instnatly. The knight orders the teams to retreat the front line into the town and fight there, and to shift priority to destroying the Night Shades. He then says the wyverns are nothing but targets if you bring them to the ground, so pull them into the buildings and kill them there. Kill, Kill, and die! Enraged, Tohya punches the adventurer. Unfortunately the man is clad in a knight's armor, and could barely even feel Tohya's fists. He continuese to punch away at the adventurer until he got his attention, and object at fighting in the city. There are people living here! But the knight coldly replies "But we don't live here." But the fate of the landers was not the only problem Tohya has with them. It's the way they fight. They are seasoned max level adventurers, they should be able to fight with much more effeciently, and not mindlessly charge to their deaths. The knight replies, what they're doing is not suicide, as there is no such thing as death for them in this world. He tells Tohya that when you die, you get to see glimps of your family. They believe in death they can be connected to their home world. That's why the repeatedly die, as they believe that is the only way to return home. As Tohya feels chills up his spine at those words, the man continues he was about to get married in summer. He was planning to quit the game, and raise a family. He can't stay here, his woman is waiting back home. Tohya tells him the world is always real. There are people living in this reality, you can't treat it like fantasy. But the knight refuses to acknowledge it, and says this world can't be real. A world where you can't die can't possibly exist. That's a world of video games, not reality. It's because adventurers like you who pretend to "live" in the world and not die, that we can't go home. The knight has never seen death in the real world. Tohya has. He has seen the driver who hit him die. He has seen his own body scraped against the asphalt floor, and bones showing. The hospital he was in was like hell to him. As far as he was concerned it was a place existing between life and death. The knight has nothing more to say, he shoves Tohya aside and tells him if they really are in the wrong, tell that to the admins. The admins would have banned them. ---- Nyanta uses "unicorn Jump", "quick step" and "lightning steps" to move between the trees and the armored train at incredible speed. Consumed by anger and sadness, he dashes past the shades killing them instantly, then faces the sorceror on horseback. It's Londark. The two have faced each other, back when Londark was part of the Brigandia in Susukino. Nyanta demands to know what Londark is doing here, what is this armored train, and why they are doing with the shades. He, of course, already has an idea of what's going on. This demand for an answer was a confirmation. He knows the town of Sappphyr is under attack by horde of wyverns, and the shades they are using are the cause of it. Londark says he was only hired to guard this magical armored train, and doesn't intend to do anything specific to the town. What's going on ahead is not of his concern, he's nothing but a hireling. He tells him he doesn't intend to fight Nyanta. Just doing my job. Sorry for what happened in Susukino. Now get out of the way. Nyanta demands to know if Londark understands the consequence of his actions, but Londark replies he does not care. He knows Shiroe's vision of this world and why the adventurers have to work with the landers. And the possibility of war between the two cannot be ignored. And how devastating that would be to all parties involved. Londark says that's up to his client, a lander who gave him his quest, and not for him to think about. The two starts the fight. As they fight, Nyanta still questions him of his motives, and his lack of responsibility. Londark says he was never invited to this world. Was not given an option. So none of this should matter to him. Nyanta returns that no one was invited to this, you're not unique. But what matters to Londark is that he was not invited, he was forced here. Then it's only fair he treats the world the same as it has treated him. Nyanta has no words to return, as he realizes Londark is not wrong in his thinking. He really doesn't have an obligation. He understood where the man stands, and while he cannot agree with him, he doesn't have a solid reasoning to dunounce his stance. He couldn't help but feel pity for the man in front of him. This is getting way too long, half way through... I'm going to cut and summarize the rest without getting into too much detail EDIT: here's the second half Spoiler: Serara runs ahead to join the fight... but Minori chooses to stay behind and question Roe2. She doesn't know if this is the right choice, the situation is as grim as the fight they had in Choushi. But she instinctively felt this is the only chance she'll have to get answers from Roe2. The fight between the Odyssea Knights and the Wyverns and the shades were utter chaos and terrible. There's no aggro management, no healers checking status, just endless zombie attack of freshly resurrected adventurers who are still weak from resurrection penalty. Roe2 comments on how ugly the fight is, and it's meritless. This must be what hell is like, although she has never been there. Minori hears the voice of Tohya, who was arguing with the knight. Roe2 tells her Tohya is crying, Serara is casting Heartbeat Healing to everyone near her, and Isuzu and Rundelhaus are on their way here... but none of that will change the outcome. She then tells Minori the question she wants to ask must be very imporant to ask in a time like this. She asks Minori who she is, who herself is, and where do we come from and go? Minori must have her own answer to that. Minori has no idea. She feels Shiroe could figure out the answer, but for Minori the only answer she can come up with was... I'm Shroe's apprentice. And you are a big sister to us. You came from far, and you will leave for far, but right now you are here with us, together. Roe2 looks surprised at the answer, and she looked very familiar to someone Minori loves. Isuzu and Rudy were on their way, but running out of MP. They take shelter in a nearby building. They hear the shouts outside. The Odyssea Knights have given up protecting the town, and the cries of landers are heard. The Knights are using the buildings as shields, and telling the crying landers to shut up. This was not the heroic image of adventurers Rudy had imagined. Isuzu hears the criese of the knight arguing with Tohya, and was filled with sadness for both the adventueres and landers. This world was not kind to either of them. She tosses away her spear and pulls out her the Flying Dolfphin Lute. To Rudy's surprise, she leaps out of the building, playing her lute.
