I don't think I'll ever understand the facination behind IchigoxRukia. But then again, I can't seem to get pass the idea of an adolescent hooking up with anyone who's age involves a 3 digit number.

Well yeh they do have strong friendship bond, but don't see anything on romantic level.

I think it goes beyond simple friendship. Ichigo has a "friendship bond" with Chad, Orihime & Ishida (to some extent...), Renji etc. He and the others have stated on many occasions that his relationship with Rukia is above and beyond that.

At this point, I think it's a stretch to call it "romantic". They have a very strong and unique bond, but it's not romantic yet. It might never get there, or it might.

I thought they had a lot of great chemistry in the first season. Infact i thought they were really gonna get together. But then the SS arc happened and it all went downhill from there...

Have you guys ever heard of the term "best friends"?

"Best friend" and just "friend" are on different levels and yet none involves actual romance.

Renji and Rukia are "best friends". Clearly her relationship with Ichigo goes beyond that (as has been implied by all characters, even Renji).

I guess all the awkward unrequited romance baggage that comes with Renji is what's dragging them down. Ichigo is too dense to ever make a move so she's in safer territory with him.

Renji's and Rukia's friendship stopped sparkling long time ago. Besides you can have several best friends and still act differently with them.
