anyway the way I see it , both of them are playing to win. And yes Killua is very observant as he is in fact trained since probably birth to be an assassin. Gon on the other Hand, (just like his dad) is in far above average in the mental department, as this is shown time and again in the innovative ways he solves their predicaments. I think some people were derailed with his happy-go-lucky, risk taking attitude, and apparent non caring of certain "common sense", equating it with low mental aptitude. Gon too has been presented as someone who has unbelievable power of observation, it is one of his strengths ( remember that fight/test with the Guides before the hunter exam?) So all in all I believe both would have scored high, probably 1 - 2, Killua : disadvantage -he went out to do the hunter exam. -would focus more on strategic & fighting points. less on game story trivia advantage - has experience with RPGs and their mechanics - good power of observation Gon : disadvantage - first time playing RPG advantage - good power of observation - fully immersed in the story, therefore observing as much as possible. well there could be more ad-dis ads for each but I think that's the most important ones.

76 was pretty much an exposition episode. Ging has tricked Gon once again; for some reason he didn't want Gon to bring his friends along (apparently he's shy, but that doesn't seem to reconcile with all the friends he seems to have made...)
I'm noticing a unique tone from this arc that seems quite different from those that preceded it. The 'queen' seems likely to somehow be related to the ants that attacked Killua. Also, art quality kind of dipped. Hopefully that's just due to it being a low-key, background information type of episode. The last few episodes were magnificently animated, so it's a tough act to follow. |

Ultimately, Gon and Gin are pretty different. It seems that, for all his friends, Gin never had a real friend, someone really close to him.

Anyways, I'm just totally psyched that we finally got to this point. This is where all the fun starts. (where the fun ended the last time) |

the episode was kinda meh, even the animation took a downturn, i hope the dire status of index dont end up affecting the quality of this anime, also the op is more off than it ever been, but i expect a good MAD with "guren no yuuya" as its the trend right now, the ED dont fall behind the op, wich is quite funny since "just awake" would had been a much better fit for this arc, specially after watchong the video of the song.

I figured it was still too early for Gon to meet his father so it turning out to be someone else wasn't all that surprising. Not the most gripping introduction and Kite's story turned out to be pretty standard affair. Unlike the previous arcs that have generally followed from one another pretty smoothly, it seems like this one is starting off from scratch so it might be a bit difficult for me to get into like it was at the start of the show. Here's hoping Chimera Ant's arc will prove to be every bit as exciting as everyone keeps saying it is.
