We've all seen a bratty oujo-sama character at least once in a show that we've thought needed a good kick in the head like that. Kudos Rin for doing what we've all wanted to do.

Looks like this show is following all the standard magical girl show cliches and gleefully lampshading them the whole way. We've got the standard Dark Magical Girl rival character who's initially superior to the heroine in every way possible. Well it should be cute watching her thaw out to Illya in 2-3 more episodes.

Seriously speaking, I know that this season is kinda crap in a way because it is all Cardcaptor Sakura-like thing all the way then it gets more epic in Zwei and Drei. I mean I love the series as I am a huge fan of this series who read it for a long time, but it is sad that season 1 kind of falls compared to Zwei and Drei

All dark magical girls are aloof to the protagonist in the beginning. It's tradition. Just give it a few episodes, I'm sure things will change eventually.

Is it my imagination, or does Miyu give of Homura Akemish vibes? But I guess part of the charm of this series is to see Illya live a life that's so peaceful and mundane that she can proclaim this entire affair as a "game", and sincerely see it that way.

I guess for non-manga reader but fsn/fha reader the anime will really kto ick in at the end of the next ep (or the next next ep end, depending on how they will cut the original material)

At least that is what it did to me when I 1st read the manga, I was like: "holy sh..." after the 2nd card fight.

Oh yea....by the way ilya is kiritsugu's daughter, but we never seen her use kiritsugu inherited magic right? Accel and decelerate? Or irrisviel alchemist?

I found myself sleeping through this episode multiple times.

I'm a type-moon fanboy, but man, its hard watching this. I read the manga, and that to me seemed bland as well.
Just a very dialed in cheap parody of CCS/Nanoha-ish elements outsourced to a 3rd string manga artist.

The entirely of the first "season" of the manga is pretty much this.

It starts shedding that by 2wei though (see the manga thread), but alas, it's not to be animated yet, which is a shame.

I find the characters too inexpressive in the anime. Miyu's perplexed face was nowhere as funny as in the manga.

Implication by Sella in charge is Kiri and Iri are "Overseas" working parents and given Illya is surprised by all this magic thing is kept out of the loop to live a normal life.

Which brings to question if Shirou is kept out of the loop as well or not.
