Starship Operators - More space battles, more tactics, more awesomeness.

Ergo Proxy - Can be so much more evolved after the series ends.

Voices of a Distant Star - Not a series, but I have to mention it. Of the short length, so little are told, but so much else can still be told. A universe worth continuing.

Cowboy Bebop - The Prequel

It centers on Spike as a struggling street kid, who eventually stumbles into Red Dragon Crime Syndicate business, and becomes a recruit. There he meets Vicious where they are both assigned to work together.

From there, they show how they slowly rise up the ranks, become important members of the syndicate, gain respect from the syndicate leaders (Mao Yenrai) - become friends with Annie (lady from ep 5 in Cowboy bebop), gain loyalty from members under them (Lin and Shin), and of course the first meeting of Spike and Vicious' girlfriend Julia - their eventual falling in love with each other and the betrayal which would lead to Spike's presumable syndicate death.

Its a story that NEEDS to be told!

It wold be like a whole series of The Real folk Blues http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DClbGmOBqgY
I firmly think that's what cowboy bebop should have been.

Well to me the Spike 5 were definite highlights of the series. I definitely wanted more eps to deal with his past, though if the entire series were to revolve around Spike then the series couldn't really have been called Cowboy Bebop - as the title specially refers to the crew of the Bebop as bounty hunters.

A Spike/Julia/Vicious series would really need a whole new name.

Hm.
The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, that's for sure.
Tomoyo After too. One ep is not enough.

True. And the ending we got was amazing. More episodes or a prequel series revolved around the Spike/Julia/Vicious triangle would have been the better option I suppose if we get to keep that ending.

Most limited anime i've seen have a refreshingly finite lifespan, and would be destroyed if extended too long. These two however, are not only very good, but have much more book/manga content that's just waiting to be converted.
