Coolest fighting styles?

Which anime fighting styles do you think are the absolutely coolest? Not martial arts, but all around fighting abilities?

Some of my favourites are:

Masaru Daimon from Digimon Savers.
He is a human, and yet, he jumps up and punches Digimons during battles. He is a simple slugger, but the way he does it looks so awesome. His fighting style is plain and simply raw.

Pain from Naruto.
IMO, his bodies were never used in as cool a way as they could have been used, but the very concept of six bodies is awesome, and they had some cool powers.

Mutsu Enmei-Ryu from Shura no Toki.
Used to take down entire armies of ARMED enemies using BARE FISTS.

Shizuo from Durarara!! He tosses around vending machines and playground slides like it's no big deal.

Other than that, Shiki from Kara no Kyoukai (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sBrWcKIteAo), pretty much any female from Black Lagoon (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=38Un0m0WIwk), Canaan from CANAAN, Tomoyo from CLANNAD (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JqAzNWjPP6k), etc.

Shizuo pretty much has the best fighting "style" ever.

Almost everyone from Jojo's Bizarre Adventure. Even the powers that seem lame/useless at first glance turn out to be seriously awesome once you see how they use those powers:

Some of the highlights include:

Jolyne Kujo: can turn herself into string. Sounds lame, until you see how uses it: she can use it spy on people, hide herself in locations that would be impossible for anyone else, kill people from long distance with it, and even deflect attacks with it.

Bruno Buccellati: can put a zipper on anything, which works like a portal of sorts so he can essentially go through walls, floors, buildings, etc. He can even split himself non-fatally into pieces, which is used brilliantly during one fight.

Josuke Higashikata: can destroy and recreate things. Basically, he can inflict fatal injuries on his opponents and then instantly heal them, he can also do this to inanimate objects as well. As with every other Jojo character, the ways he uses this power is what makes it stand out, especially during the motorcycle chase late in part 4


Read or Die:

Yomiko "The Paper" Readman: Give her a little paper and she can make almost anything she wants/needs. The bad guy is too high in the sky to reach? She can make a giant paper airplane to pursue him. Bad guy is shooting at her? She can make the paper hard enough to deflect bullets.

with a flip of his fingers, he can burn everything up, it can be long range and accurate as well

combination of her flashy fighting/sword skills + her eyes that can see the death lines

super assasination skills + electric shock = a deadly fighter

That'd definitely be Mikoto Misaka, especially when she tosses that coin. Plus there's a lot of creative uses of the power.

There's always Kurama from Yu Yu Hakusho too; I like how he pwns the opposition.

I'm seconding:

Alucard - gotta love his huge-a$$ guns and morphing into hellhounds and all his vampire awesomeness.
Roy - no one can look more elegant than he does while blowing up immortal bad guys with snaps of his fingers.
Shizuo - falcon punch + vending machine toss = instant win fight.
Hei - Chinsese Electric Batman. 'Nuff said.

I'm also adding Franken Stein from Soul Eater. His 5-minute long chair fight was pure awesome.

Spoiler for Kei Munakata from Medaka Box:

He's not actually a fighter, he's a killer. He carries all kinds of weapons and uses things like his bare hands, swords, hammers, firearms, and explosives to fight. Now get this, killing people has been all he's ever thought about since he turned five. He has powerful homicidal impulses, but carries those weapons and learned how to kill with them so no one would ever get close enough for him to hurt them. He's a killer who's whole style revolves around trying not to kill his opponent.

Spoiler for Shinobu Sensui from Yu Yu Hakusho:

Reikou Resshuuken, blending powerful footwork with destructive spheres of spirit energy. You could just see this as a different version of soccer, but I thought his moves were pretty interesting. Resshu Kokyuuha-Crimson Lightning Ball. Resshu Shiendan- Violet Flame Kick. All in all, I liked it.

I think it's more of a "power" than a "fighting style." Otherwise I would have put Accelerator on my list, since his powers are hax, especially later in the light novels...

If not then I'd say the Kyoto Ryu style of Shichika Yasuri from Katanagatari.

I don't have a particular favorite anime characters that fight well. So here comes a list.


I like sword fights, fist fights, gunfights, people who go berserk and dominate, warriors that die trying while fighting valiantly, girls/boys who fight hard but get overwhelmed and get saved by their knight/goddess, boys/girls who are cold and calculated fighters, charismatic fighters, the conceited and arrogant fighters who pwn, elegant fighters that pwn, cute fighters, magic fights, psychic fighters, elemental fighters, and the list goes on.
