I agree, play the game.
The anime series is very good, with the only downfall being the ending and the unanswered questions and undeveloped subplots, but all the rest is good, animation, sound, fighting, romance, drama, comedy, char acters etc... If you play the game , at first, you will get the same ending as in the anime, but then there are more endings after u finish the game once, which will satisfy you if u dont like the bad ending of the anime. |

You guys do realize this thread is from two years ago?
But to reiterate for people in years to come I too recommend playing the game. Watching the anime ruins nearly all the game's endings with it's horrible amalgamation of three routes into one. <3 Saber

The series started out interesting, then took a nosedive. Archer's scene is the highlight of the anime, and to be honest, the ONLY reason I suffered through it. Shirou is annoying as hell, and the entire idea of KING Arthur being a girl is beyond idiotic.
Yes, quality animation, decent voice acting, and I'll even say it has a decent storyline. But a lot of the characters themselves annoy me to death. Except for Archer. He can do no wrong as far as I'm concerned. In my mind, his Unlimited Blade Works is almost akin to Kamina's Giga Drill Breaker. Coolness on another level. All in all, the series got a 5/10 for me. While not the most horrible, it seriously needs to have some plot holes filled in and stupid/pointless dialogue erased.

I still think it's worth watching if you can keep the female King Arthur in the back of your mind, the fights are pretty cool too. The soundtrack is pretty good too. |
