No, it was God Mokona!

Because the knights refused to become a new pillar, the universe was doomed and Mokona made a devil in his own image to exact revenge on all magical girls while delaying the heat death of everything.

Godoka incidentaly became the new pillar that restored order to the universe and Mokona is satisfied that everything went on "JUST AS PLANNED!".

its actually a Raynearth reference? i thought it was a Raideen/Rahxephon/Reideen reference, i must've been confused because of the mecha design.....

You're correct, it's love that's never meant to be. Compared to the other three, Sayaka got the biggest slap to the face out of all of them considering what happened to her in the anime.

I'm not sure if that's supposed to be simply adult versions or "God Mode" versions of all of them? Or, perhaps I should say the Madoka-ist pantheon:

Madoka, Goddess of Hope

Homura, Goddess of War

Mami, Goddess of Tea and Cake

Sayaka, Goddess of Music

Kyouko, Goddess of Food Not Related to Tea and Cake (or cheese- that's Charlotte's department)
