I dunno, I mean, yeah, Maria's more... personality centric in the anime, and certainly less whorish, but like, Daigo's a non-entity in the anime. Then again, we haven't really gotten to his story arcs yet. But the others in the Core Five seem to be having much more screentime.

I kinda liked Anko in the game, but (Episode 5 Spoilers?)

Apparently she's going to go into hyper emo mode in Episode 5? Seriously? I haven't watched it yet, but that sounds really... wrong.

Along those lines, I hope I hope I hope I HOPE they make Maiko less annoying in the anime.

I haven't read any of the game spoiler things, but just watched the ep.

A.) Kimono and hairbun Aoi's pretty hot.

B.) Breakdancing homless people are pretty weird.

C.) Swimsuit Aoi and Komaki. <3

Very Aoi-centric episode with zero action. :sadness: The nurse appears a couple times, but doesn't really do much of anything, though looks like she'll probably play a major part of next episode as this one ends with

The gradual lessening of the action worries me greatly. This ep was pretty much devoid of anything in terms of fight scenes or the like, and I wasn't paying close enough attention to try to follow what exactly was going on. Tch.

erm anyone care to fill in the general plot of the series? so far it seems to be wandering mindlessly with very little to go on how things will continue ~ besides the only fact that we know that theres some big tattooed boss to kill really so far its been quite episodic (not that its a problem soo far but i fear the future)

Well, on the plus side, they're actually getting somewhere with the story. Which is good, in a way. For some people.

The bad is that they're taking another extremely short chapter and stretching it out for far too long.
The bad of Episode 5:

Too much Aoi, too much emo Anko, too much bitchy Komaki. I kinda dug Komaki in the game, but now she's turning into a shrill bitch with a major hardon for Aoi.

And yes, too much Aoi. In the game, Aoi spends 90% of the chapter in a coma. I mean, she has a bad dream at the beginning, at school the next day they're all talking about bad dreams, then she collapses into her coma and she says nothing for the rest of the chapter. That is it.

I can see why they did it like this, what with her going to try and fix Anko and all, because they're showing that Aoi is JUST A BEAUTIFUL PERSON INSIDE AND OUT WITH OVERFLOWING COMPASSION AND LOVE FOR EVERY PERSON AND THING AND INANIMATE OBJECT and all that other mess. This will be relevant in the next episode, where you'll find out SPOILER the guy isn't trying to kill her, because she was the only person who was ever nice to him and therefore he is in love with her.

Hisui continues to be the only one doing anything relevant to the plot, which is kind of stupid.

Also, disappointed that there's no action as well. I don't mind talking, but the talking here isn't the least bit interesting.

In short, a scene by scene summary:

People dying - This is good, in the game you rarely get to see these effects happening. Instead, you're regulated to hearing rumors about them. I like it.

Dude, Kyoichi and Tatsuma are nothing short of gay for each other, I'm convinced. o_o

I kind of enjoyed episode 5 despite it not having action and stuff. The animation was actually still relatively stable and they're still doing a good job with the backgrounds and scene composition IMO. Each scene has a good level of detail in it and seems framed nicely too...

And hey, I like emo kids shut up in their room.

I don't really understand the friendship (relationship?) between Kyoichi and Tatsuma. In episode 03, Kyouichi said he wanted the girls to war swimsuits, then Tatsuma replied that it wasn't really what Kyouichi wants (or something). What's really going on between them?

What is really a bigger mystery is what's going on in Tatsuma's head. He actually understood the feelings of Kyouichi when he load all his crap about Aoi being week. (When they ate ramen) Did actually Tatsuma agree to Kyouichi about Aoi, or something more hidden? (like Kyouichi likes Aoi or something)
I have no chance to understand Tatsuma's personality. Why did he watch when the others (includet Kyouichi) was kicked aroung. They could have died.

Otherwise I enjoy the show even though Aoi goes on my nerve. >_<

The verdict is out after episode 3: Aoi sucks. A lot. I don't think I've ever disliked an anime character quite this much before.

At least I can tell her off in the game when she gets whiny/preachy/annoying/all of the above.

Some more scattered thoughts in my head because I'm too lazy to form proper paragraphs:

- Daigo is a stuttering fool, and Sakurai really isn't much better

- Raito's lightning special effects were 100X cooler than in the game; but why was he so freaking strong? It's like the producers put all their efforts into "Improving" Raito that they neglected the rest of this episode; and as a result, was filled to the brim with Aoi's whining.

- New thoughts on Kyouichi's overbearing personality: To cover up for Tatsuma's lack of one. Seriously; the man character eats and occasionally speaks one liners. In monotone.

Such a wasted opportunity, because seeing as how the main character never had a set personality in the game, they had all the room in the world to change him for the better. But they didn't.

- My new distaste for Aoi made it much easier to overlook Kyouichi's assholish ways; and at times (Which is most of this episode) I even found myself siding with him, especially when he berated her in the alley for being such a stupid dumbass.

- Saya! (Or was it Sayo?)

- Anyone reminded of The Birds? I found it rather humourous that some people actually got killed by the crows. Crows for crying out loud! God.

- And what the hell kind of cliffhanger was that? Aoi magically gaining the ability to fight (By which I of course mean defend) Raito, and they cut it off as they clash in mid-air (Again by that I of course mean Aoi just stands perfectly still and forms some stupid shield by raising her hands while Raito jumps in the air and tries to impale her. To nobody's surprise and my great disappointment, he fails.)

- Kisaragi wins points for yelling at all the lame characters (You know the ones) but loses them all for not yelling at Aoi to shut up when he had all those chances ("Waaah baby wants to fight too").

- In conclusion, Aoi sucks. The end.

Aoi's powers in the game are healing and defensive. In the anime, she seems strictly regulated to creating barriers, and telekinesis, as she's been shown to be able to stop the moving of rocks and whatnot. She can apparently also mess with the memories of others.

The anime is about the guy with the hood.

can someone please fill me in on this anime. i've seen 3 eps so far and feel totally lost. First off, why do these kids have powers? i take it ep 1 is in the future and ep 2 takes place before that, so does ep 3 take place after ep 2 or after ep 1? Why do they all say that Aoi has no powers, when all the other kids just woke up the powers themselves and somehow Saikura knows how to use a magical bow-n-arrow that came out of no where. So, yea.....this anime is cool but after watching the first 3 eps.....i just feel lost and need someone to help me out and fill me in! Thanks

I know what Hiyu's fighting style is, but the name escapes me at this moment.

As for Aoi not having powers, they mean she has no offensive abilities. Komaki can use a bow because she's Magami Gakuen's star archery gal, and Hisui is the one who gives her those goofy looking arrows.
