What does Gaara's name mean?
What does Gaara's name literally translate into? After watching ep77 I became more curious what his name meant.
Does it mean to love yourself? Gaara seems to always think he can only love himself and everyone tells him that he should only love himself. |

Japanese dictionaries are our friends
seriously people I've found Hinata (sunshine), Uzumaki (whirlpool), and Uchiha (round fan - the design on his back) in mine as for gaara, I couldn't find the actuall word but here's what I came up with ga - self ara - shortcoming, weakness so therefore. . . ga+ara = my shortcoming or my weakness' In other words gaara's name basically means mommy's little disappointment awww! isn't that cute |

so self+love+? well from what everyone else is saying the 3rd kanji is probably something that means deamon. If you actually found a kanji spelling of gaara could you please tell me where? I'd like to take a look at it too. Oh and can somebody tell me where I can get that Japanese font that I see people using on this forum. How'd you get that kanji in your post??? |

And Saitou00, hiragana tells us nothing but the pronounciation. As long as it's a name, it can only give us a clue as to what it means. Especially when it's a three kanji name which is pretty unusual. |
