Lost Universe, worth it or not?

So in my boredom I was just looking around and stumbled onto little info about Lost Universe. I didn't realize the author was the same as Slayers, that was very interesting info. I remember watching one episode as a kid, therefore I am interested this anime.
So I just want to get some personal opinions on this anime.

I watched some episodes in Arabic language, it was pretty good but underrated in my opinion, so I'll recommend watching it if you are bored enough.

I've watched the whole series but honestly I don't think it's that good, definitely not as good as Slayers for several reasons.

It is in my opinion an overall mediocre anime which can be enjoyable if you have nothing better to watch, but nothing you will miss out either. The only memorable thing of that series is Megumi Hayashibara's voice acting of Canal (the same person that voices Lina Inverse) which is also the most interesting character of the show.

Watch it if you are a big Slayers fan, there are some connections between the two universes (which you might miss if you don't read some explanation online), but don't expect too much from it.

Thanks for comments. Wel, I am not a huge fan of Slayers, but I sort of wanted to watch it out of nostalgia reason. So overall it sounds like an aright anime.
@Jan-Poo- I did heard the connection, that was main reason I was intrigued.

Honestly, it's a poor man's Slayers (ie: it's Slayers in space, but about half as interesting/funny/etc), so if you aren't all that fond of Slayers, I can't imagine you're going to enjoy Lost Universe.

Heck, I have friends who used to obsess over Slayers and Lina Inverse back when it was popular to do so, and even they couldn't really get into Lost Universe. It's really, really bland. Not necessarily bad. Just...so bland compared to the actual Slayers titles.

It feels like years since they've been updated, btw.
Also, cake.

The title definitely has a nice ring to it.
But it looks to me more like a puffy, ecci (but not at all arousing), cheezy episode; more for females than males; from the pics.
