But their is that whole matter of escaping and they don't have a new ship yet... Add the impending doom of the island on its way due to the buster call and their is still plenty of tension.

One thing can definitely make the next chapter highly entertaining, Luffy upgrading to next gear (if that chibi version actually represents the next gear). That would make chibi-Luffy vs leopard-Lucci.

I wonder if they can steal the ship currently docked at the "Final Section of the Bridge of Hesitation"

With the Buster Call ships coming directly from Marine HQ through the Gate of Justice, on the one hand, the Bridge of Hesitation would probably not be attacked immediately, but on the other, it rather limits their escape routes - it's not so easy for the Straw Hats to attack multiple Marine ships...

Maybe they could steal the ship but force Spandam / the Marines to act like they still control the ship...

I still have a hard time believing the marines would bomb EL. Im willing to wager that Ao Kiji didn't give that Golden Den Den Mushi to Spandam for the reasons Spandam thinks he did. It just seems so unreal. Ao Kiji should know that Spandam, apart from being mad, is a complete blundering fool.

Maybe when he goes chibi, he becomes smarter since he wasnt dumb like he is now when he was a kid, which could help him figure out how to beat lucc, but its highly doubtful that this is the case.

Umm, the way Oda put this chibi thing down is that it's a side effect of this gear 3. Since he beat down the door it should basically mean that he gets even stronger. At the price of becoming small for a while.

I can't wait to see more of the gear three. I am curious to see what it is and if it IS stronger why hasn't Luffy used it on lucci yet? I mean it would seem to be the best solution, gear 3, budda bing, budda boom, no more lucci.

Any ideas as to what the attacks would be like?

The characters usually level up when necessary. The simplest example is Sanji. He must have had his red-leg technique - most probably something he learned from his cooking-fighting master - for a long time. But, this is the first time that the conditions forced him to use it.

Regarding Luffy-Lucci fight, it seems to me that Lucci and Luffy are on equal terms. But, Luffy is not highly experienced with his gears unlike Lucci's cp9 techniques, so Lucci still has the advantage despite the power balance. Luffy needs to level up in order to finish this fight as quick as he can, since all of his crew have already started to wait for him to leave the island.

Click! (sound of the lock opening)
Franky: It unlocked!
Robin: Hah...hah... (looks at her hands)
Spandam: Idiot!!! I...is that the real key!?
Robin's so exhausted that she can't even stand up
Franky: Hey hey, look a bit more livelier!
Spandam: What the...! How can this be! Don't tell me you people beat all the CP9 members in the Tower of Justice!?
Franky: This is Franky! Hey, long nose! Nico Robin's handcuffs have been unlocked!

Zoro, Sanji, Sogeking: Alright!

Robin: Mr. Long nose...thank you!
Sogeking: Save the thanks until this is over, then you can tell that directly to your nakama who risked their lives to gain the keys. You should understand now, you're a nakama of Luffy's group. Now do whatever you want!
Robin wipes her tears away.

Zoro: The fence surrounding the island was destroyed! That explosion just now was powerful!
Sanji: When a few more battleships get here, it'll be like a hurricane if they all attack like that...and look at the sea, the whirlpools in which no ship can survive are all gone. The Gate of Justice is opening for the attack! And it's blocking the current of the whirlpools causing them to disappear. Sogeking! We've gotta hurry, get down from there!

Marine 1: Woah! The Justice Tower!
Zoro&Sanji: Sogeking!
While the Galley-la, giants, and marines are being noisy, the tower falls into the pit...
Sanji: ...
Zoro: Hey, this can't be real...

Sogeking: Are you calling me? Ah? (he lands in front of Sanji and Zoro)

Luffy attacks

Lucci dodges and jumps in front of Luffy, Luffy dodges and lands a punch on Lucci's abdomen.
Lucci: Hnn!
Luffy: Huh...huh..
Lucci: So that's the case...it's like a stimulant...by pumping air in your legs, you cause your blood-flow to speed up...if it's a normal human body, that type of blood pressure would cause you organs, blood vessels and heart to explode. But rubber would be able to stand that pressure. This is something only a rubber man like you could do.
Lucci: Your body's ability, really is way past its limit, but your body won't be able to handle this upgrade...it's not a smart thing to do...! You're shortening you life!
Luffy: That's better than losing everything in front of you! I'm going to do the things I need to do!
Lucci: You have too many wants! Did you hear the explosion? The fleet's probably testing their cannon, in a short while, the bombardment will begin...In the Justice Tower, your nakama will die there.
Luffy: !
Lucci: And even if they get lucky, when they try to get here through the underground passage...rankyaku!

Crumble sound (the wall is damaged)

Luffy: ?
Lucci: Look at the momentum of the water, it'll flow nicely into the tunnel, drowning anyone there.
Luffy: You...
Lucci: It's not possible to win at everything....Strawhat. I want to see how far this idiotic notion of yours that you can save everyone and escape gets.
Luffy: What the hell are you talking about!!

The scene changes back to the Bridge of Hesitation
Spandam: Hurry!!! Catch Nico Robin and bring her to the escort ship! Do it now, the fleet is almost here!
Marine A: Looks like...we're out of time...

A shot of Robin and Franky in a shocked trance.

Marine B: Ah! Over there in the fog! Shadows!
Marine C: It's the fleet! The Buster Call has started!

The fleet appears...and...the 5 vice-admirals!
