I didn't much care for the episode. I liked Karin, mostly because her act was pretty good. The episode was actually one of a rare few where I skipped some of it. Though to be fair, it was drawn out in a manner better than the last.

I usually don't care about poor animation, but this time I too noticed it.

Well, in the beginning of the episode Suigetsu said that she experimented on his body, on Orochimaru's request, so I wonder^^
New prisoner dude looks like a crackpot, but at least the omake was fun

Why did Karin's hair change colour though? Animation issues? I read the manga too but I don't recall hair colour change being one of her abilities.

Suigetsu's hair colour changed aswell. There was some kind of darker light in the prison fortress, probably candle light. It was darker and the shadows made the colour change. I think this is about metameric colours. Colours seem the same under certain light, but if the light changes, they look completely different. Well, that is a little farfetched aswell. It is just that reflectance of colours depends on the colour of the emitted light.

The hair colour depends on the lighting conditions.

For someone who is colour-blind and dark green is the same as red and all hues of blue are the same, I couldn't really tell the difference

Oh, didn't know that. She had a reddish brown and he had a rather warm beige / grey. No blueish white anymore. Sasuke's black hair got a warm, dark-brown hue.

This episode was really boring, on top of adding crappy filler stuff, the subs screw up the manga stuff as well. In the manga I actually chuckled when Suigetsu said "What am I, chopped liver?", here he just said "Hey I'm here too!".

Nah they're dragging this out too long. The added stuff was a good idea but most of it was pointless. Back to the manga stuff, please.

because we're watching a whole episode of Juugo next week. I wouldn't complain if the animation didn't suck so much. >_>

If we get Juugo flashbacks with you-know-who, I won't complain, the orochimaru ones were quality stuff.

Suigetsu is quality stuff aswell. We need to see more of him. He really seems to become the main character of the series, doesn't he?

And I wouldn't complain if the filler material didn't suck so much. Seriously, Sasuke capturing escaped test subjects? Since when is Sasuke assigned to crappy jobs like that? The Suigetsu episode last weak was bearable, this episode was utter crap. I hope they show some quality stuff next week with Juugo and Kimimaro, and not something random like they did this week. I bet they'll re-use that scene where Kimimaro finds a flower and Juugo comes in and they both talk about their love for flowers... God help us

^ Indeed, Suigetsu's little side story had a very comedic touch to it, I didn't mind it at all. This week's was rather boring, but it gave me a different view of karin's crush on Sasuke, I always had the impression she wanted to tie him up and -imagine the rest-.

Actually what was shown today is even more gross. We now know that Karin gets horny from people with "tasty" chakra. That's just creepy.
