Please translate this
Hi! Appreciate any help reading this!
Thanks! Dee (Sorry. Site Was Korean Not Japanese). Last edited by Dee Eon; 2008-08-15 at 03:58. Thanks, Libri.
A few more niggling questions: What is the english equivalent for " hito no age ashitori." Also is it meant to be taken literally, or is it a figure of speech? "kiritto shite" Thank you.

Thanks again.
I know I'm getting annoying, but there's one more: " Oyako kawa no ji de neru?" The "ji" is the kanji for " character" or " handwriting". Is this also a figure of speech? It doesn't make sense to me literally.

Thanks Libri. One more line for now. lol. This is by hearing, so I don't know if I'm writing it in romaji correctly.
"Kosui mo na. Kaze de mada hana tsumattetashi. Ano onna omoikiri fukkakerarete kusee no itee no nani ga nandaka wakaranakatta. " I don't need a translation, though it would be nice to know what the verb form is before conjugation?

'I wonder if that/this is okay?' Depends on the context of the situation and what was said before to be honest for a more accurate translation. :\ But the addition of 'ka na' is usually said to one's self in a 'hmm... i wonder...' kinda thought. For any future requests (this is to anyone) if you can explain a little bout the scene you've taken the excerpt from for context, it'll help make a better translation than just looking at a sentence and figuring it out grammatically. So many new requests i've noticed If (by miracle chance) i get time to breathe offline i'll see if i can help out. Seems poor libri's kinda been handling them alone

Ok then Let me explain the scene:
- I took those words from a manga strip (I only found one panel) and there were two people sitting aside each other(a girl and a boy) - There were only two text bubbles in the page. First is the one you guys translated and the girl's response is "I don't want to". |

If you don't mind, please send the entire panel of what you have. If she said 'iya' - that can be translated as 'no/nope.' but to have a sentence as: boy: 'how's this' or 'is this okay? girl: 'i don't want to' Doesn't make sense in english huh... :\ Quote:
(And I need to practice my Japanese translation perhaps more than you need to for english) anyways, otsukare for the ones you've done, i'll lurk around, read the earlier requests and see if next week i can get to anything during work...

Now that you mention that, a Spanish-speaking friend of mine says that she could transpose/write/type Spanish into English as fast as she hears/reads it, but she noticed the same isn't true of Asian speakers, who I supposed have to ponder every P &Q nuance before setting any translation down, so I guess it requires a total mental perception shift in order to accurately translate Asian languages to English. So I give you my new appreciation and thanks and will cut down my translation requests to one or two sentences or so. Dee |
