here is an interesting little tidbit Abatis found out about episode 11
his dedication brings a tear to my eye i think alot of retro buffs might find it interesting I'm not ENTIRELY wrong... In Babel II, the hero: A) Dreams of a tower in a desert, the Tower of Babel; B) Is protected by three beasts: 1) Poseidon, a giant robot that is usually shown rising from the ocean; 2) Lopross, a dragon/pterodactyl with a sonic scream; 3) Rodem, a panther that can transform into a liquid. The creator of Babel II later went on to make Giant Robo, so it's no coincidence. here is the wiki article http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Babel_II |

TBH i think they ran out of cash and made a quick fix episode thats totaly off the wall. The final episode makes no sense att compared to the rest. I mean <spoiler> Tetsuro goes on about loving Yayoi and stuff, she gets killed, the next thing we know he's at the beach</spoiler> it makes no sense, Course the entire season made little sense. Would of been better if they'd followed the manga more, atleast there would of been proper reasons for the nudity and stuff lol |

It was until they went and butchered Pao-sama. Pao-sama is far greater in her dino battle gear then being a slave maid, poor Pao-sama....
Same with Gantai (or what ever her real name is), I much preferred her during her emo days then her new form.

Episode 12.5 Sorta
I'm the guy who went and bought the DVD of volume 7. The REAL reason why eps 12 to 13 made no frickin' sense is because they were EDITED. But then, they had to be.
Changes/Additions: Episode 12: Added scene: Tetsuro, hiding from lusting girls, almost gets seduced by naked Yamada and Sato, who were getting ready to take a shower until he showed up. Tetsuro shows *real* willpower there... Changed scene: The girl who shows up at the end is NOT who shows up in the TV version. Changed scene: Preview of next episode completely different from TV version. Episode 13: Spoiler for Episode 13:
Added scene: Nipples for EVERYONE! (And there was much rejoicing). However, nipples were also shown for the children, so this will probably not be a Tatertotz release. I will release a version of eps 12 & 13 myself like I did with eps 10 & 11, as Megaupload or Rapidshare files instead of torrents. In the meantime, try these files: Pictures, cards, etc. from the volume 7 DVD: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=PX67F0JP Character Audiodisk (no singing, just humor, interviews, and a kind of drama episode): http://www.megaupload.com/?d=6VOBNRW0 Commercials, interviews with the voice actors, etc. from the DVD: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=WVB5X89L |

I can't say I enjoyed the series (most of the time I was saying "wtf?" or "are these people supposed to be making sense?" or "when plot fails, go for the fanservice" ) .... but it did get my feet in the water in regard to fansubbing chores. Some of the dialog made my head hurt. Note: buy more aspirin. My tasks ahead:
1) Get more consistent in moving things from my inbox to my outbox. 2) Get a better grip on the tools and start learning the other mechanical skills involved.

Anime vs Manga
I fell in love with the manga first myself. It was the first time a harem story made sense.
Superior cyborg girls fall for worthless human boy... because he's just so worthless! Thus not only does he cause Florence Nightingale Syndrome, he also reminds them what it means to be human (as in easily scared, easily hurt, hard to fix, etc). When he does something even a little manly, they want to cheer for him. I treated the anime as sort of a "alternative universe after a few drinks"... At least until I saw the infamous episode about making an anime. That's where I fell in love with Otome and Miyabi. As for the trailer, to me it seems that episode 12 (which was feared may end the world)... well, ended the world. Dear ol' dad is not about to give up his first love, Yayoi is doing the self-sacrifice or self-kidnapping thing, Gantai-chan has got her memories back, and Tetsuro is now channeling Akira The Animation in the Evangelion universe. That about wrap it up? |
