Sad Anime

Looking for somethin that'll basically guarentee to make you cry or shed a tear.

Never shed one yet, i think i might have during elfen lied, ga-rei-zero, hmm that's all memory is serving right now.

Can be any genre really.

Maybe also try out the following titles:

- Air (tv series);
- Clannad;
- Clannad After Story;
- Emma: A Victorian Romance;
- Kanon 2006;
- Saikano (Saishuuheiki Kanojo);
- Sola;
- Witchblade (the anime); mostly at the end;

Cross Game

Made me cry

Maybe Chrono Crusade. Didn't make me cry, but many people have told me the ending made them cry.

Chrono Crusade's ending might make you cry, but I'm not sure if you want to get through 2 cours of action to see it. But you might, since you liked Elfen Lied (I think). Cross Game is good too, yeah.

SaiKano came closest to breaking me. Certain moments in Air made me teary. Grave of the Fireflies isn't for everyone, but I'll second it. Clannad wrecked me around episodes 7 and 9.

Another Grave of the Fireflies. It will reach into the coldest of hearts and pull out those tears forcefully.

If you reeeeeally wana cry, watch Clannad or Kanon, they're probably top in the tearjerking domain.

Parts of Fullmetal Alchemist are likely to make you cry.

Starblazers had some really harsh heart breaker scenes too.

Now and then, here and there. very depressing, but a bit uplifting in the end. tho not as much as it is depressing :@
overall a great anime.. its not a opera between people, its more like a tale of a kid, and the people he meets, and the shit that hits the fan every few minutes. highly recommend it.

I agree with Now and Then, Here and There. Although I don't recall crying, it was a pretty good anime. However, the first 4-5 episodes might be quite slow, so don't give up if you decide to watch this anime.

Grave of the Fireflies will almost guarantee you have sobbing eyes by the end of the film, unless you're a strong critical thinker and realize...

Spoiler for spoilery!:

I hate to disappoint you, but there is no strong critical skills required to figure out such an obvious fact.

FMA almost made me cry not because it was sad but because the ending was totally messed up.

I've never cried for any anime. Actually, perhaps i did when i was about 9 or so watching Goku die but that shouldn't count.

Recently Elfen Lied, and Code Geass made me the saddest but nothing significant.

I havn't cryed over any anime, Not one, not even grave of the fireflies (probably because I let my girlfriend cry and I comfort her xD). I would say that Wolf rain is the only one I really thought was quite upsetting but still didn't cry ^^'

The ending of Gunbuster broke me. I never saw it coming and would never have expected it. Still one of the greatest endings I've seen to date.
