Because it feels like we've got a good bit of stuff to deal with before moving on to the next protagonist, like the conflict between Asem, Romary,a nd Zehart. I'd really prefer Sunrise didn't give us another "they fell in love and got together off-screen with no prior build-up" thing again.

Well, another "mini" battle before the "surprise" at the end of the episode. Another big battle coming, another time for Flit to continue to be the main character instead of Asemu (Seriously, where is THIS Flit during HIS arc?)
Anyway... 1. Starts of with Largan Obright trying his best to get killed off. Of course, since Remi didn't answer yet, the death flag gets stalled for a little bit. 2. Surprised myself that Asemu didn't get sent to the brig. On the other hand, he'll sooner or later be more mentally unstable than Kamille. 3. Wolff K.O. one of the magician. That's the awesome Wolff that I knew of from Flit arc. 4. Desil...come on, Flit piloting a Gundam is one thing. You can't even beat Flit nowaday when he's only using Diva's cannon. 5. On the other hand, I'm surprised they still haven't kill Desil off. Maybe they're saving the honor for Zehart. 6. God damn it, you REALLY suck, Alisa. 7. Last note - well, I wouldn't worry if I'm Asemu. It's not like Flit is your uber-duper pilot early in his arc, either (Even Wolff was better than him). I mean, look at Flit now, don't even need Gundam anymore... Quote:

I like how Wolf killed the X-Rounder chick. Just goes to show that having precognitive powers cannot compensate for stupidity when up against somebody with actual skills.
Diva's security sucks if Asem can just break out the helmet. I really hope that the final battle of Asem's arc doesn't begin next episode. His development still has a long way to go, since he's still chasing after Flit instead of becoming his own man. And no, I don't think 5 episodes is enough for him to grow, 7 maybe.

I swear during that proposal I just kept saying out loud "Death Flag, Death Flag!" Geeze man you are already in a dangerous spot and now your going to propose!?
As expected Asemu really hit a low with his smash and grab of the helmet. In the end felt that without the X-Rounder powers he couldn't match up. Certainly it did help in winning the fight and proving how terrifying the AGE-2 can be in the hands of an X-Rounder. Nothing even comes close to that unit. Of course Flit wasn't much help and if it was just left there hard to say how much further Asemu would collapse mentally. Really needed Woolf to step in there and settle him down. Needs someone he can relate to like Woolf instead of his super perfect father. Woolf did prove he beat an X-Rounder so Asemu in the AGE-2 can do it. Just being able to predict his movements isn't everything. Of course it kind of felt like a death flag going up for Woolf too. Asemu has someone he can view as a father figure more than his actual father. Makes sense for the series to kick Asemu when he's down once again....

Oh boy... I've always sympathized with Asemu up to this point and respected his desire to do the right thing over following orders, but he was just a moron here. Flit was pretty easy on him considering that this was just him proving himself a liability without any real defense. (The 'You not only put yourself in danger, you endangered everyone else' kinda reminded me of the Lion King, on a very random note, the scene after Simba returns from the Elephant graveyard. "But you're not scared of anything, Commander Asuno!" "I was today. ... I was scared I might lose you." "I bet those Vagans were even scareder." "That's because nobody messes with your dad! C'mere, you!" *Flit chases Asemu around the room, the two laughing merrrily*)
The X-Rounder helmet causing brain damage is interesting. Random prediction: maybe he'll become severely brain damaged before this arc is over, meaning that Kio will grow up taking care of his dad rather than vice-versa. This will instill in Kio a generous nature and a love for taking care of others; he'll grow up wanting to become a nurse, already possessing an impressive amount of medical knowledge by the time his arc starts, but the war tragically forces this peaceful young boy to inherit the same battle-fueled lifestyle as his father and grandfather. |
