Fairly much the same to be honest. Except Huke's illustrations has more detail to them since they're still images whereas in the Anime, they just flash by pretty quickly so they usually don't spend much time rendering them.

I'm currently watching the anime and when it finishes will play the game.
The question is: is the romance and story for each girl in separate routes like in Fate or it's different?

The times when you need to make the right decisions to see each ending is very obvious in this VN. You don't need to replay a lot of the game to get them if not, none at all... Unless you're going for the "true ending".

Ok, more focused question: is romance a healthy/plausible part of VN and can each girl be romanced?

There's a route for each of the lab-mem girls, except moeka. Don't expect too much romance though. If you like romance focused steins;gate, play the fan disc, "Steins;gate Hiyoku Renri no Darling". You can even romance moeka there

Yeah, that's what I was asking for: romance but not too much

5pb is releasing an iOS version of the VN this summer.

The phone actions are pretty cool.

The backgrounds in the PSP port looks blurred and the fonts they chose for the slimmed down menus look horrible. Don't really expect much difference in the iOS versions.

Phone actions don't look much different other than the added "kinetic scrolling" which is standard for touchscreen smartphones.

Would be nice if they actually let you preview what reply you're writing before it gets sent off.

Just to let everyone know, an english translation of the PC version of Steins;Gate is currently in the works! The group working on it are aiming for a Christmas release date at the earliest.

Here's their website if you wanna visit: http://vn.shourai.net/

You'll just have to suffice with the PC. Unless some blissful company picks up the iOS version of the game and translate it, although I'm not sure if it will sell?

I personally think playing the game first is better, unless the anime chooses a different ending or open-ended ending which is extremely unlikely in this series. The game will not 'spoil' the anime as much as the anime will 'spoil' the game. Personal opinion of course.

I'm going to put faith that the anime will follow the "true route" and clearly shows no signs yet of deviating from what the game had. Even though it's a different studio animating Steins;Gate from the ones who did Chaos;Head. I'm just going by that one past example that they are going to stay true to the game.

I personally wished for a mini omnibus ending: they show the ending for one heroine and then jump back in time and resume the true route to the next heroine. I just don't know if there will be enough episodes for that though.

I'm just wondering how will the people in the anime thread react when they see Ruka's ending lol

They probably will go with the true ending seeing how they've cut out what happens during Okarin's first time leap.

But I'd like to see the reactions for Suzuha's depressing endless loop ending. I missed the D-Mail trigger during the first play through and ended up getting that ending, lol...

And yeah, Rukako's one would be a shocker XD

Well, Okarin's first time leap is optional anyway(if you phone Mayuri at that point it starts off on the one where she gets hit by a car just like the anime did)

One thing I wondered about the whole people living and dying thing

Spoiler for death:
