true , never was an argument about that. As I said in my original post, Yuuko & now Nagisa had made Public Announcement of their intentions of being Center-Nova ( as a commonality between them). No one else has done so ( so far), which is not saying that others are not gunning for the position or that others are not perceived by the audience as possible contenders, or even that they need to do so.

Well, Chieri's situation is special because Nagisa pretty much announced that Chieri is going for the Center Nova position in her declaration . So Chieri doesn't need to say anything now lol.

Doesn't it all says something about everyone's emotions as they wait for it? It may result in the extra push many or all of them needs to become successors themselves, if like Ushiyama said it help them sort their own intentions.

AKB0048 19 - Succession Sickness

AKB's always had these rituals and supernatural elements to it, but when Mimori falling sick was taken as a sign of her becoming the next successor, the series suddenly took on a new dimension. AKB isn't just an institution, it's nearly a lifestyle in this universe. The stuff with Nagisa and Chieri continues to be pretty interesting. It's been made clear several times throughout the series that they glow the brightest when they're together, but I don't think two people can take on a name at once. If Chieri goes on without Nagisa, or Nagisa goes on without Chieri, they both might end up underpowered. Chieri has popularity on her side, but Nagisa apparently has that *thing*, that spark. The tension's really picking up.

I think Chieri has *it* too though. Or put in another way, I haven't seen Nagisa doing anything that Chieri hasn't done as well, so Nagisa doesn't really seem more special than Chieri imo. At least not at this point.

Oh wow a fever of succession, well good for Mimori, though i wonder what Tsubasa was surprised about at the end. Good thing Nagisa finally has gotten things straight. Liked how she took down Yuuko's pictures and chose to aim for center nova. Though it was quite funny at what time she decided to declare herself.

Not a chance in a million years. For deciding to go bare sometimes after her graduation, Rinatin literally got herself blackballed for the rest of her life, never to be mentioned again in official AKB annals (an example is the "Video Blur of Death"), and thus leaving a perverse mark in the group's history.

NO NAME to release their 2nd single in April

It’s been revealed that AKB48 sub-unit NO NAME will be releasing their 2nd single, “Kono Namida wo Kimi ni Sasagu“, on April 10th. The new release was announced on February 10th during AKB48’s handshake event at Saitama Super Arena.

NO NAME is comprised of AKB48’s Watanabe Mayu, Nakaya Sayaka, Sato Amina, Ishida Haruka, Sato Sumire, Iwata Karen, and SKE48’s Yagami Kumi, Hata Sawako, and NMB48’s Mita Mao. It will be used as the ending theme for their tv anime, ‘AKB0048 next stage‘.

When Watanabe announced the song’s release, Oshima Yuko commented, “It’s another good song. The first one was really good too!” In response, Watanabe said, “It’s a really good song! The coupling track will be the opening song, ‘Omonaki Sono Koe’. Please check it out!”

The first, second and fourth ones are not associated with any particular event. Kimono was the theme for first selection, and swimsuit was for the second.

Third selection theme will be valentine. Here is some examples (only ones I could get the pic for). There should be 21 of those, one for each noname, 8 main successors + Tsubasa + Miichan + Sasshi + Acchan.


It seems to work the same way as real AKB, you buy singles with the ballots, where each would correspond to one vote. If you buy many, you can vote many times for same member or different ones.

One of the things I like about this game is getting the girls in all different clothes or situations we don't or wouldn't see in the anime. The current Valentine theme, for instance, is pretty cute.

Maybe others facepalmed, but I can live with Nagisa's unexpected intent to throw her hat in the ring. Yuko's earlier comment on her performance kind of given Nagisa a reality check, that she's no longer just a performer but also as a competitor.

(I think a performer deciding to disrupt in the middle of live a performance isn't new at any concert in history.)

That's true, but considering she was filling in for Mimori, I think what she did was a bit disrespectful. She even told Mimori she would do her proud, but instead she used the opportunity for self-promotion disregarding everyone's hard work for the performance. I don't hold it against her because I don't think she really thought what she was doing, but I still don't like it one bit.

I did facepalm every time I watched through that part, although my facepalming is more related with embarrassment then feeling it was stupid. And it's more related with the first part, where she was thinking something strongly and end up saying it out loud. Now after that when she talks it didn't feel as embarrassing for me, as that one it was something she decided to say it.

The way Mayuyu's hair is draped over Yukirin there is very d'aww-inspiring. So cute!

In regards to Nagisa's interruption, I have to agree with Kazu-kun. I also felt it was disrespectful to the person she was filling in for. Determination is all well and good, and making an announcement like that gains you respect in those quarters, I get that, but she could have showed her determination without interrupting the song, and she should have held her announcement until the break. Unfortunately, it seems she doesn't multitask well, so once she started thinking about how Yuuko and Chieri were leaving her behind, all other things she was supposed to be focusing on (like the performance she was in the middle of) flew out of her head.
