Oh, and by the way. Re-l is spelled in the credits are "Riru", while Real is "Riaru".

I am really sad to see Raul go like that. To have the balls to stand up the the Big Brother and the tenacity to actually try to kill the omnipotent Proxy, but they die like that, in such a stupid, pointless way?

The look on Raul's face when he saw Pino's drawings was the thing that redeemed him quite a bit in my eyes.

Great episode. I like how they combined the imagery of the Red String of Fate together with the Ariadne's Thread in that scene with Daedalus. And by the way, hasn't Daedalus become so unsufferably annoying? He must have caught that from Raul or something, because he is starting to get on my nerves.

In other news:

- Ergo ripped off his arm and then grew himself another one.
- Re-l met with Real
- Raul way trying to get more FP bullets from Daedalus, only to get shot in the stomach. He later dies by stumbling accidentaly upon a broken glass.
- The other Proxy One has Memory Hacker's voice.

AHHHHH MY LOVE!!! Yeah so I knew it would happen but still...

And sorry to repeat this (if it was already mentioned) but has anyone seen the manga? Sorry there's just so many pages here and I haven't had the time follow the show for several weeks now so I don't want to come across any other spoilers-

Heyllooo. I'm happy to see ergo proxy is popular here. I love this series and have seen all the episodes that are out ( gah, one more to go, can't...wait). Did anyone notice that the creatures' mothers in the caves in ep. 17 look just like the things in teh machines in romdeau that make the humans. And why is real Real growing so fast, from ep. 17 to 22 she has grown a lot ( I'm watching the raws so I'm a little unclear on some stuff).

So I really appreciate the work Aniki made over at her/his Blog. Without that summeries I would be mostly 'lost in non-existant translation' ...

Yeah - it's called 'WombSys' and I think it's pretty clear that someone (most likely Daedalus) used these poor creatures to build that thing. I'm beginning to wonder if Romdeau is another of Daedalus' attempts to resurrect mankind from the apokalypse. And the other cities - like the total ruin with this run-down proxy (episodes 12/13) or Mosk - were failures...

Speaking of Daedalus... that character's name has most likely something to do with the his archetype Daidalos from the greek mythology. Daidalos was a famous artificier and sculptor. His figurines and statuettes were famous for being mostly 'real' (hint-hint).
After he was banned (for murdering his nephew Perdix) he found asylum on Crete. There he built for King Minos the Labyrinthe in wich the Minotaur was trapped. But then he betrayed Minos by telling Theseus via Ariadne how to find the way out of the labyrinthe: with the famous Ariadne-string. So I believe our white Real' s red string isn't only a reference to the 'string of fate' - I believe she also holds the 'Ariadne-String' and therefore the way out of the Labyrinthe - remember the last words of Proxy One in episode 22: "Finally you have managed to get here, Vincent Law. However, do you think you can really escape from this labyrinth?" (quote shamelessly stolen from Aniki )
And then begins the most famous story about Daidalos: He flees from Crete with his most 'real ' creation - his son Icaros - by making wings with feathers from birds and wax from candles. Once Icaros is flying he wants to go up higher and higher. So he became too close to the sunwagon and the wax from the wings was melting. Icaros dies by falling to the sea - which is since then known as the 'Icarian Sea'.

Is it possible that Daedalus' most real creation Re-1124C41+ (our beloved black Real) is dying by 'wanting too much'??? NOOOO!!! *cries*

It's interesting that VincentErgo Proxy is described as being an incomplete proxy who created an incomplete world (Romdeau) since the person he is obsessing over appears to be incomplete as well (her name is Re-L and not Real). I suppose that was intentional.

Whoa, that Vol. 4 cover really is kickass. But why does Ril look kind of fugly in the first one? I would understand if it was actual animation but considering the style they're aiming for in a still picture...

What kind of ending was that? Seriously. I mean, okay, take this with a large pinch of salt since it's my immediate reaction but for the last 10 minutes I've just been going "WHAT?" and having a totally "WTF?" expression on my face...


No really, what the hell? That was really a very pathetic ending...

It really IS like one of those cancelled Shonen Jump manga endings I'm afraid. I'm sorry if I sound evil or like physics223, because I was hoping for a good last episode but... well sheesh. I dunno. Let me come back a week later and see if my opinion's different.

P.S. The deux ex machina is Pino. (Not a spoiler)
At least I think Vincent will be permanently cool now. This is almost like some pathetic attempt to get a 2nd season but I have a strong feeling it is nooot going to work. Though it's quite easy to imagine a few possible continuations (and they might indeed be more interesting).

I stopped watching this series thirteen episodes ago and I came back only to notice the craptacular animation quality and very... lame ending. Definately not the best of shows to come from Madhouse now IMO.

Reminds me of Rozen Maiden Traumend's ending, with the obligatory, but ridiculously short and unfulfilling final battle and the open ending with some new mysterious force in the background. What are those ships in the background? Colonists from that space station? Why is Kristeva suddenly with Pino and Real now? She found her Raison d'etre by serving Pino now instead of Raul?

But, hey, at least Pino is still as cute as ever. That's at least one nice consolation to the ending. Somebody really needs to make some Pino GIFs.
