Z Chromosomes don't occur in humans, or mammals in particular.

I think this is probably just a mishearing of the lyrics on your part. As Lord of Fire pointed out, the last part of that line goes "A to the XYZ", with no mention of "YZ" or anything of that sort.

Picked up the new Death Devil CD at my local import store this weekend... was pleasantly surprised to find that the CV for Christina was Asakawa Yuu if I can believe the jacket work. She's credited for vocals and guitar work.
She also has/had her own band that I have a few CDs of - rather experimental harder-edged stuff outside the "usual seiyuu pop".

That's just typical music video logic. You see it all the time in real videos, where footage of the band actually playing the song is intercut with them staring moodily out of windows or whatever. A recent example that springs to mind is Metric's "Sick Muse".

o.O Have you never seen a music video? Pretty much by definition, they're edited collections of lip-sync, acting, some real playing footage, maybe some CGI, but mostly staged bits. The ED of both season 1 and 2 are homages to these sorts of music videos.

Yes, I've seen many music videos in my time but it didn't occur to me to think of the EDs as music videos. I suppose the first season ED should have clued me in, since Mugi is playing a keytar that isn't connected to anything in that one.

To be perfectly honest, the 2nd season ED made me think a lot of the music video for FLOW - COLORS, the well known first OP for Code Geass. They are playing in a very similar looking white sound room. FLOW have some pretty awesome music videos too, the one with the Terminator parody coming out of left field was hilarious, there was also one where a robot gives a girl a flower and another one where they rock some cops trying to arrest them until they get knocked out.

The ED always seems to be better sung and have better animation/artwork.
But the OP always seems to have an awesome solo in the full version that comes out sounding better than the ED's full version.

We'll see if that is true with the new ones next month.

The OP is very nicely animated this time around with lots of little details. It's not quite the work of music video art that the ED is, but I feel it is much better animated. I also find the song to be quite interesting, and I admit I've listened to it much more than I have the ED.

The ED is, of course, very well sung. Yoko Hikasa's deeper voice appeals to Western ears. The tune is catchy, but I could drop it into the song rotation of the local three-chord rock station and promptly lose it. For that matter, for some reason, it reminds me of Tonight Tonight Tonight . . . the Bleach OP, not the Genesis song. Hmm . . . there's a video to be made in this somewhere.
