There's no fiance as far as I can recall...I have no idea whether there's an issue with my memory or yours......His family may have been dignified once, but that was a long time ago, and his branch of the family has, let's say, fallen from prominence until Godou became a campione. I don't think they were rich and influential enough to betroth their members to others. The other branch families might be able to do so, since it's been stated that they are still pretty rich( Godou tends to win a fortune from his rich relatives via a series gambling wins every year at the yearly family gathering), but definitely not the Ichirou line. BTW,Godou's so rich from his gambling wins that he was apparently able to fund a number of travels overseas via his own savings before the series began.

He ain't a blockhead. He is well aware of the fact that the ladies, at least the four (five if you include Hikari) around him are well in love with him. It's just that most of the time, he PRETENDS that they are either USING him or they are just doing things that normal friends should do. Most of the time, the guy's in denial due to the fact that he wants to be a normal guy. And having a harem ain't normal.And in the case where the mc fails to notice the other girls' affections, a proper explanation was given as to why he dismissed their feelings, much like DxD. IS is just a poor piece of writing with no explanation whatsoever.As for the other girls, their attempts at him aren't as overt as the four girls, and remained just friends--doing only what friends should do--they never had the guts to move past that stage.
