Yes, if I can understand if it is personal opinion. But if it was on a gaming website, I'll have to question it because the fighting game genre will not enjoy the popularity it used to enjoy in the early to mid 1990s ever again. The only way for the genre to have this popularity is to have suddenly all FPS, RTS, jRPG and WoW players drop them to intensively play Street Fighter 4. Not gonna happen.

I used to. And even had a SNK fanboy phase, then Guilty Gear happened. Now, I have learned to respect their respective charms and styles of gameplay.

I suck at fighting games. Who the hell has time to memorize combos, let alone develop the skills to actually pull them off properly? That said, Melty Blood is my favourite. Hurray for finally getting an Actress Again PC port!
Anyways, if the fighting game genre was to make a comeback, the Nanoha games would not be the ones to do it. They're pretty basic with not much meat to them. There are plenty more stand out fighters out there.

I just like how varied everyone's moves are in King of Fighters. ... Plus each character having at least 25 special techniques makes for some really awesome stuff. I'm exaggerating, but they do have a lot of moves, many of which are chained off of other moves. @ Raiser: At one point, I had EVERY move and fatality of Mortal Kombat 2 (home edition) memorized. ...When I was eight. Then I forgot when the Genesis broke.

Speculation about Yuuno's moveset in Gears of Destiny
Special Skills: Auto-Guard and Healing. Everytime you attack him, auto-Barrier. Every time a Barrier, healing. You heal him every time you attack. Shooting: Chain Bind Bombardment: Circle Protection, Wheel Protection, or Round Shield Capture: Loop Bind Melee: Barrier/Shield bash or Chain Bind whipping Guard: Binding Shield (defense + grab!) Grab: Teleporting away from the opponent, or grabbing and teleporting them away |

No magic, no war, no death. Sure, Nanoha's dad was in the hopital, but both of Yuuno's parents actually died. And Yuuno grew up practicing magic. Judging by your post, every scene regarding Nanoha's family and friends was a waste of time. The point of a backstory isn't to be as exciting as the story actually being told right now. The point is to explain how the characters GOT to this point. Nanoha's backstory explains how she ended up as the Takamachi Nanoha we all know and love. But we are less clear about the past that shaped Yuuno, and about his family. We certainly know far less about the Scrya Clan than about the Yagami Family, the Takamachi Family (on Earth and Midchilda), the Testarossa / Hallahoun Family, and the Nakajima / Numbers family. |

So uh, with Tokyo Game Show 2011 on, and Namco scheduled to show something of GoD, what do you think we'll be spoilered on this time? Will the remaining characters be revealed, or will it be a run over of the Wolkenritter and the old newcomers?

I would like it if they would made more antagonists for the game. Here the team. Heros: Nanoha, Fate, Hayate, Yuuno, Arf, Reinforce, Vita, Signum, Zafira, Shamal, Chrono. Most likely Hero: Vivio, Einhart, Thouma Most likely Villain: Material-S,L,D Unknown (can be fighting due to Poor communication kills): Amitie, Kyrie, Leise Twins Since the story mode this time is going to be One big story, and the selected character is going to be their perspective. How are they going to justify fighting each other? Unless they are going the Dark Piece route again. Please Namco! show something after over a month and a half of nothing. |
