(calligraphy? with glow?) pretty nice, you have a nice base picture, and the comets/shooting stars are gorgeous. nothing si really missing, you should just polishing a bit the elements already in it ^^

errr, nevermind, i was probably talking about some parts of the picture edge, where the curves are a bit screwed because of the black lines (aliasing? errr, i dunno)
but this isn't really easy to fix (for my concern, i dunno how )don't worry about too much about what i said XD

unfortunately, i'm afraid that your banners suffer a lot of image issues (for the second, is it because it is a gif? since i'm not really a digital image expert ~~) the main problem is : because of the weird compression (it's not only the original image quality ), the gradiant isn't smooth anymore, so, there is graineness on the first banner (should we call that artifacts?) and you can see the different layers of blue and white on the second banner >.< (this is really visible on the edges and around the text :s) or did i have mistaken theses lines from somewhere else? (the flakes maybe? the lines are pretty too localized.) the banners don't really suffer from any problem (perhaps another pic like NWS said) other than that :/ which software do you use? it would be a shame that the quality of your work is downgraded because of the software and nothing else >_> anyway, for more details : 1) for yuki, you can put something behind "animesuki", and removing some flakes (i think it's a bit too crowded of flakes but well) 2) for the second banner, i think the pic in the BG should have a transparency slightly higher (or some blending) also, there is a tiny typo in the text : "fourms" instead of forums.

thx for the tips Klashikari ^_^ i thought that everything was mixed up quite badly tbh so heres a simplified version
  @sweetHoney ~ ok the quality is really low...i think you are using photoshop? one thing that ive learned doing banners is that its better to save the files as .jpg cause it looses less quality than .gif files... also why is your first one so small? 12648bytes? O.o generally they look ok but... for the first one...remove some of the flakes...it looks too messed up if you have too many...and also to fill up the right side of the banner how bout using another pic? for the second one...the right pic doesnt quite go with the main focus (cause the are the same and overlapping)...and also there is too many snowflakes...

I decided to do away with the previous font and took on board most of the advice I've been given. I couldn't find a satisfactory image so I tried my best to cover up the problem with the image.

Four that are works in progress....still cleaning up mattes & coloration...One needs to go, but I have two more that I might swap in for any one of these...
 Changed my mind an probably will enter this banner. Mattes need copious amount of cleaning first.  Still trying to work in another element.  Background needs a bit more brushing, toning & blending. She needs more Vitamin D. Last edited by Catgirls; 2006-11-05 at 14:08. |
