Kud's exact line in episode 4 from the subs:

Kud: "I lied a little when I first introduced myself here. Like how I said I didn't know much about Japan because I was living overseas."

Basically she's implying that she's trying to keep up the image she created for herself, so she keeps acting like foreigner well versed in English.

Haruka was the older(?) one from what I remember. Haruka was the first one who was supposed to be the next "heir" of the family but she did bad in cooking, house work and in academics, yet Kanata showed results. Kanata was the one who was being hit and kicked by the adults at first for all the failures just because she was younger(?), but after Haruka's constant failures the adults decided to force the two to have a cooking competition to re-decide the heir of the family, as well as to decide which twin will be the one who kicks and who will be kicked. Of course Kanata won, Haruka did know a special dish she was particularly good at, but she didn't cook it (i don't remember if she did it on purpose or not, or if Kanata had something to do with it), and Haruka since that day was abused by every failure she did when she was being trained and taught. Haruka/Kanata's fathers as well as the real mother went against the family's traditions to 'save' Haruka from the conspiracy of the family, and as a result Haruka's mother and second father is exiled from the family, never allowed to see her other daughter, Kanata, while the real father sacrifices himself to take the rest of the blame on the whole family's actions by taking false blame (ex: Attempted arson, assaulter). Haruka and Kanata alreadly knew they were both twins. Haruka and Kanata are twins from two fathers, the only way to find out is a blood sample but the fathers won't let them do that easily to find the truth. Yes they look exactly the same, but no it isn't that simple to point out who is the real father of the two twins. When the twins are ready to find out the truth, under one condition then will the fathers let the twins compare their blood samples to find out who is the real father.

Did it say anywhere in the game that Haruka and Kanata are definitely from different dads_ Because if not I´m going with theory that they actually are fraternal twins from the same dad, but the family made up the story so that they could lie and say one twin was from the criminal and the other was not. If they just assume that both are from one dad, then there is a chance that they both came from the criminal dad and are both "unworthy". That would also explain why they had the initial contests between the girls to decide who was "better", instead of just taking DNA tests and exiling the one who was daughter of the criminal dad.

And about that dish, are you talking about the dish that had eggs in it?

Also Kanata is older because Haruka calls her "older sister" in Kanata's route.She wouldn't call her that if she didn't know the birth order or if Kanata was younger.

...iirc Haruka didn't make that dish because she thought Kanata would be allergic. And the twins had to eat each other's dishes.
