Not really, when the anime was announced there were heavy rumours talking about Omega featuring the Ophiucus Gold Saint.

So there was some truth on it but just happens to be on Next Dimension manga.

The series has been planned to be 52 episodes and still is airing, today the new episode airs.

The show was always planned to run for a year, so if it's not getting a sequel, I don't think it counts as a cancellation.

Likewise, I've seen many people talking about how the Lost Canvas OVA was "cancelled", but I don't think it was ever slated to run for more than 26 episodes, even if they weren't enough to cover the whole manga.

Yeah, I think they simply don't (want to) make more. It reminds me of Spice & Wolf and Full Metal Panic! fans who've been waiting forever for the studios to announce another season to conclude those stories. I admit, I'm one of them

That Jump Remix interview says nothing about cancellation (that sounds more like that website's personal wishful thinking). The producer Gou Wakabayashi just says the focus will shift to the past for a while, to tell what happened during the original fight against Mars.

Thats not the same as cancellation e.e. Its just that Omega's lifespan is coming to end as planned.

yep this just means who this gona be a one big season serie and dont gonna bet a second season, not a cancelation, maybe in future if blueray/dvd/manga sales goes very well and fans ask for more they gonna do a second season.(in the end any anime life is based on the sales), their just have no plans to do a second season for now.
