That was a very underwhelming ending. Nothing happened...

Yeah, looking at it purely from a story perspective this last chapter disappoints. It's far more interesting to look at it as a self-parody (which ironically is how it also began). Aruto chiding herself on not drawing ero that well could be Kawashita's own admission of guilt towards not reaching Yabuki's standard (but then again, Yabuki is a damn high bar to jump). And just like in the first chapter, she echoes the sentiment of preferring to be a shoujo mangaka instead of an ero one.

She really should get a writer to help her out for her next series, and be more confident in her abilities. Maybe she should meet Yabuki and get inspired just like he was with Ishikei
