It's only a spoiler if you know it's a spoiler. Otherwise it's something you'd look back on after the reveal and be like "I see what you did there."

There's no need for it to be phrased like that, though. The pun works fine, if not better, the other way.

"If a girl grows up into a woman, then isn't a magical girl one who grows up into a witch?"

Even if "Magical witch girl" were correct, it'd be just as awkward as saying "Little women grow up into women."

If you checked the character bios, you'll see that that synopsis is the only time that they are referred to as magical witch girls. With that in mind, while I don't get its usage I'm assuming they'll still be called magical girls (T_T over not translating it as Puella Magi, though; such a more unique name).

Maybe "magical girls" is just going to be the shortened form.

After reading the story intro and character briefs on the site, I see that the English used is "funny." It's more like the Engrish you see from Japan instead.
In fact, some of the lines in the intro seem to be from the lines on the Japanese release covers.

Some guy said this on my FB.

Quote:
I think this is what was SUPPOSED to be said... this comes from the initial press release Otacon gave regarding Iwakami-san premiering the series. :

"She has a loving family and best friends, laughs and cries from time to time...
Madoka Kaname is an eighth grader of Mitakihara middle school who lived a normal life
One day, she had a very magical encounter
She doesn't know if it happened by chance or by fate yet.
This is a fateful encounter that can change her destiny-
This is a beginning of a new story of the world of magical girls and witches."

It's just another little mistake of the webmaster/typist that, in the eyes of anyone that really knows the series, is a great error.

Interesting tidbit about the American release (note, not about the actors/actresses, so I assume this is still the right thread):

Along with our north american partner, we'll be releasing the North american edition of Madoka. It will have special packaging so even japanese fans will want to buy it.
Apparently, Iwakami said this today. I assume it was during an interview or his panel, not sure though. The statement also says both DVD and BD were mentioned, but they want to get reassurance to make sure it wasn't a misspeak.

Oh my, thank you again for AnimeSuki for the multiple titles, needed to remind myself that Mahou Shoujo = Puella Magi.

I gave some suggestions to them when I went to the Aniplex booth XD:
Madoka's notebook a box (complete with the contents).
Limited Blu-Ray covers of #2 (Episodes 1-4: Mami is from Episode 1-3... at 4, she still remains important), #4 (Episodes 5-8: Sakura vs Kyoko) and #5 (Homura and Madoka: from Episode 10-12).

I highly doubt that's going to happen, I mean the "extra packaging" idea, even if it's Aniplex themselves.

Probably will release a blu-ray. The chances of releasing a blu-ray complete box is very very low... (in Japan).

I hope my idea of Madoka's notebook being the design of a DVD/Blu-Ray box is a great one.

The novel is based on Gen's original script for Madoka, so I'm expecting things that weren't shown in the anime to be detailed in the novel.
