Yes i have heard of people who read the novel who mentioned that fact, it was during the time because he met Lapis right? Also i am not sure if this is right, but someone who read the novels told me that it was because Kazuma lost his cool and couldn't properly control his powers when he went berserk, and since he was unstable Ayano had the chance to beat him. Though I know Ayano is strong, but not even Kazuma's father can beat him, so I think that it was because or if not a factor that caused Ayano to be able to stop him.

frankly I just want to see Ayano's reaction to Kazuma's reaction of seeing Rin. Wonder what she will do if she believes Kazuma cares for Rin more than Ayano, which at this point it looks like.

Well didn't we get something like that with the Misao situation? Sure then it was just her belief that he cared more about Misao than her but, still similar. Though of course her reaction if he actually displays this would be pretty hard on her. Just hope we don't have another situation of her being uncertain in a fight and getting put at risk because of it.

Seeing Ren going to pseudo psycho mode when Kannon was about to be hit made me go 'awww, ain't that cute'. Seems like he likes her more than he lets on. Screw AyanoXKazuma now (or at least, until mysterious girl makes a proper entrance), KannonXRen is ten time more interesting lol. XD

Yeah Ren was a bit reckless there. Guess getting caught up in it and wanting to investigate. Plus not like his friends would go and leave him as he went off to do this. Maybe wanted to confirm things before calling in. Definitely a mistake to not at least let people know where he was heading, oh well.

Important lessons in not messing with Ren. He moved pretty fast to take that guy down. While I'm sure he'd protect the gorilla as well it was a pretty powerful reaction to Kannon being at risk. Maybe nothing that huge right now but it could be a pairing at some point down the road.

Nice little exchange as well with Ayano and her friends. Dealing with of course her fears that her friends would be afraid of what she's capable of. Good bonds there and another reason why Yukari and Nanase are great characters. Even got a reflection of that when Ren showed off his powers as well.

Seen episode 18. Let's see....I know the girl that clings to Ren is obviously in love with him. As for the guy, does he just want to hang out with Ren? Or perhaps!!!! he's gay!?

I think the reason Ren did what he did was because he didn't want to feel like he needed to rely on his big brother all the time. He wants to be independent... and no a damsel in distress :P. Especially since he seemed a bit "unhappy" when kannon was like "oh you're brother is that amazing of a mage?", and then he's like well i can find out too and boom...

yeah...i think it's just to show that Ren wants to become more independent (which is a good thing because he's maturing)

Some progress in episode 18 about how these people are getting powers. Leave it to some people to think this is the next gen of games EXP level up I must admit the way the baddie has set things up is brilliant. There really is not a young adult out there that does not enjoy a game using this method was brilliant.

I am surprised Ren went to investigate without calling Ayano or his brother. Instead he took the 2 people who he should actually get a restraining order that requires them to stay 500 feet away from him.

Good set up episode for things to come i guess i am missing AyanoxKazuma time but im sure there will be more

Everytime Mr hightop with the fake fire powers yelled fire bullet. I kept thinking of Kazuma from Scryed when he would yell Shell bullet lol of course Kazuma from Scryed was much much cooler than this douch
