So Shinpachi finally shows he has skills. Madao confirms he is the one (epic) Worthless One.

I totally forgot who that firefighter is ... I couldn't remember the name of any of the backups (beside the obvious Madao and Otae), but the firefighter is the only character I entirely forgot.

So, since the enemies had reinforcements, I hope the Kabuki's next reinforcements are Gintoki "figthing friends" (Kyuubei and her clan, Shinsengumi, even Tsukuyo maybe ?) or Pirako will have a change of heart and defeat Kada's troops ? Katsura also HAS TO get involved if this plotline is about Amanto trying to conquer a part of Edo ...

Very, very awesome this episode was. The end had me trembling with excitement and got me teary when Gin and Jirocho slashed their ways through and had their back on each other! The laugh they had before that was epic and hilarious to look at for some reason.

Was kinda of surprised that Kada is actually a captain from Harusame.... she doesn't look like she can fight

Pretty much, yeah. Her bloodthirstiness fooled me into thinking she was gonna be relatively strong, but as it turns out she's kind of a weakling. Oh well.

Notice how when it was time to deal with the actual threats, Gintoki immediately sent Shinpachi away to go rescue some kid instead.

Anyway, I agree that Katsura better show up now, as well as the Shinsengumi. Considering the proportions of this conflict, it'd just be silly if they didn't.

Also, Crunchyroll's translation for this episode was pretty bad. Completely glossed over all the Hokuto no Ken references and parodies.

Such an incredible episode, with exciting action and hilarious jokes. The "battle" between the trannies and the Hosts were great (Host(o) Shinken ). Hasegawa showing up in a cardbox Gundam outfit was pretty funny too

I very much enjoyed Shinpachi's crowning moment of awesome. And no, Pirako is not weak, she's just not a top tier fighter. Besides, Shinpachi kicked quite a few asses before that scene too, and he was also called a little demon by Jirocho's men (it's not just Kagura).

The revelation that Kada is actually a captain of the Harusame and that she would have taken over Kabuki-cho just like Hosen took over Yoshiwara if it weren't for Jirocho was pretty cool. Jirocho truly turned out to be a great character. The ending of the episode made me die to watch the next one. It's R-18 time!

im glad Shinpachi finally shows his skills, it really surprised me in the manga when i read it. though this arc had one major defieciency: no Tsukyo. i really want her back on the screen . next episode is going to be great.

Movie quality yet again. This arc is seriously getting the treatment it deserves.

Yet again music placement was so damn good. Really bringing a lot of scenes to live, together with some seriously good voice acting. I can't even begin to describe how much i'm, looking forward to next weeks episode. Oh boy.

The trannies and the male escort bit was hilarious! Well-timed in an episode fraught with strife. YAY! Shinpachi redeemed himself for me! I asked for it and he delivered. Although he still shall remain my least favorite character. So good to see hard-boiled. LOL. I had forgotten all about the firefighter. Way to bring everyone together. Gintoki always sends them away when there is a serious threat. Although Kagura is pretty strong.

This arc is much better than my expectation. It's utter surprise that Kada was Amanto and the last boss.
Simultaneously I can forgive Pirako now.
This week's ranking in my mind of Pirako is #20.

This episode makes me want to watch 1st season. Though I heard that there were only few good arcs in 1st season...

it was a perfect mix of seriousness and humour. Madao as a cardboard Gundam, Shinpachi mentioning about him being used to woman using him, Otae saying "on your knees", hostessa-no-shinken, hardboiled guy, etc. There were plenty of hilarious moments. The best moment of the episode was the end itself where Gintoki has sent Kagura and Shinpachi away so they wouldn't be witnesses to how brutal he can be.
