Not impressed. Surely the tame enemy doesn't help. But this episode as a whole, bar the twist, felt uninspired.
The sniper guy keeps being the most interesting thing so far. And not sure how much focus he and his (sadly) sister will get. Regarding the "inside" speculations ... I won't overestimate it, it seemed just what it was to me.

Pretty predictable episode this week.
They managed to counterattack with Hime and some good coordination although Canaria..well, I suppose they managed to take out the Unknown but I'm curious to see what bigger threat awaits.

I suppose the question leading out of this is whether Canaria actually got killed off or just got grabbed. Considering the size and the diving angle she either got crushed or snapped up. If the intention was simply to kill her then something simple like a beam attack would have done the job. But, we'll have to see.
A good twist after a whole "power of friendship" moment with everyone working together to get the job done. What could have been a launching point for unity could really just go to hell now. The whole writing in the notebook thing seemed like a sign of bad times ahead, but you figured that last week's injury was the thing. I still have the feeling that Canaria might still be alive. There has to be a reason to go nuts to attack her of all people. If they wanted to catch someone offguard that was a major threat then you'd think Tenkawa would be the target. Eliminate the enemies highest damage dealer instead of playing your hand against the booster. Either way the mental damage will be insane. Should be a range of Suzaku personalities when you take the past few weeks into consideration. Cocky, depressed, cooperative, and probably now blood-thirsty. Haha yeah, this episode is definitely not what I'd throw the word predictable at. Unless of course we mean that everything in anime this season is entirely predictable .

............well that ending.
If we recap to last weeks episode when Canaria wrote in that notebook I too had a bad premonition of what was to come and when she collapsed thought it was just that but then this whole ending with this weeks episode....is a little too much of twist. I get the feeling that she may still be alive even though it appeared to show a stream of blood appearing in the water where she was. I find it rather odd to kill her off just like that or rather it seems the questions about the "world" these kids have been using clearly has a major side effect that they were not told about, in the first episode at the end there was someone stating that the truth about the "world" and what was to come. Now a whole week to see if she is either dead or somehow was taken away? Quite sure a lot will say she is dead but I want to give the benefit of the doubt until next episode regardless of what I mentioned above with the whole evidence of blood streams in the water. Truth be told I like Canaria she is a clueless at times and far too nice for her own good but killing her off just doesn't set well with me, Icchan well if she is dead he will probably go out of control and some cheesy cliche way is what she wrote in the book and the lazy guy will somehow encourage him to fight.....geh just thinking of a dialogue setting like that will make me drop this. |

Well it's possible she still alive, depending on secret behind no entry zine, but fake reads are usually more flashy. Abrupt deaths our if no where tend to be more serious..
Why are you comparing these two completely different situations?

WTF!!!
I thought i would be complaining about the utter sh*t animation and visuals but that ending! the episode itself is bad. it took nosedive in animation department that they even do still image but man that ending... what the heck is that red blot? cloth? floating upward and drifting from the spot where Canaria was attacked. There is really more to this "world" than what was shown. I think that would be the main part of the plot than the actual invader. I won't be surprised if they turn into alien too. Using alien technology to fight the alien enemies isn't really that rare in this type of story.

Wow, that was some bad animation. The final attack was just a still shot.
That ending took me by surprise though. After an entire episode about working together and friendship, they choose to end the episode like that. I guess it's possible that she's still alive. There is definitely more to this "world" and the city than meets the eye.

The animation was pretty good up until the climax. What was up with that? The most important scene got the worst animation frames.
Then there's Canaria. I have never be so bummed to be right in my assumption that something bad would happen to her. I hope that this is a red herring. Because if they wanted to kill her, they could've just done it in the hospital or have her fade away from overuse of her power to make it more emotional, but the way they did it feels like they were jerking the viewers around. I will admit I dropped my guard and let the writers pull the rug out from under me. I suppose we'll have to wait and see. And whatever the importance of the forbidden area is. You'd think that if it was so drastic the adults would've mentioned "you could die" from it. |
