I dont know which maid do you mean, so i will explain all of the maid ending
Starting from...
Spoiler for Maid ane:
メイド姉―
Pioneered into the wasteland of southern gate city, to create a village.
After that, without even taking one years, the village became more and more crowded and still continue to increase. It become academic town which harbor many Institute and private school that focus solely on academic.
Education that has been accepted by both human and demon, The research facilities also host some of the royalties and the likes of that.
This place act as a encounter place for young peoples who had been travelling in order to train (receive education). They become the first on the list of candidates who is studying abroad.
Spoiler for Maid imouto:
メイド妹――
Amazingly, she was appointed as a court chef at Winter Palace.
However when her innate gluttonous self makes an appearence, even at the ends of the demon world or even to the holy kingdom, she will continue to traveling in order to eat. This make the former court chef (deputy chef now) crying over her behaviour.
She qwant to become a queen in the future?
She is also expected to be, but I say the person is a fairly carefree in appearance.
Spoiler for Chief maid:
メイド長―
After the battle is over, she return to the winter village.
Live in quiet life while cleaning the house. Other than to greet visitors occasionally,
She will do nothing, talked about nothing , and will not attempt to do anything.
Her work is perfect and the house is clean at any time,
Any royalty and aristocrat who have been going to invite her for a dinner
wasn't able to court or get her in the end.
Damn. The end is quite sad for the head maid.
Spoiler:
Her master, the one she considered her destiny, got transported in another world (?) and she was left behind. And now she is all alone cleaning the house in which she lived with her master. Everyone moved foward and got nice endings, but hers is really depressing.
alive, it'd have been wrapped up better. I know they're technically alive from current standpoints. But really, can't you tell the awkward silence? Can't you see the metaphor about 'what lies beyond that hill'? Hero lost his powers and Maou has lost her horn. Swordwoman came back unscratched. Maybe god revived their souls into another realm closer to their ideals.
They're forever gone from their own realm which is no different from death for those who were left behind. They didn't even mention about other friends to cause needless worries. I like how the author decided to end it in this manner. It'd be too tragic for some fans to see hero and heroine dying in the end.
The three of them are alive. Not reincarnated, not ascended to a different plane, completely and absolutely alive. They are in no way dead, even metaphorically.
