Koromo is getting much more ridiculous in later chapter, you know .

They said she won with all the cheap and quick hands, so nothing interesting to see, really. Until the final....

But isn't it expected that till the final the leader holds back when necessary?

Japanese ruleset should be listed under the name "japanese modern/classic" IIRC.
Really? I was under the impression that it was called Riichi in Japan as well.

Not as far as I can tell. You're free to start one up in the Games forum.

I don't think that this is necessary. A lot of viewers don't seem to be familiar with Mahjong, and a deeper understanding of it can lead to enjoying the series more. It's no different than, say some baseball discussion in Cross Game. It can stay unless it starts really overshadowing the Saki discussion.

I have to agree with Proto here. There really shouldn't be any posts about what's going to happen later on in the manga in this thread. I'm sympathetic enough about the above posts being more about genre conventions than anything actually spoilerish, so I'll leave them unoppressed. But let's leave it at that, and discuss what's already happened in the show instead.

Well as long as we don't know specifics and the possibility of a twist it's not a big loss. Anyone could figure out they'd go all out in the final Whether they needed to or not. I don't read the manga BTW.

It's not really a question of specificity - it's that different people have different ideas of what constitutes a spoiler, so it's more consistent just restrict this thread to what happens in the anime. I'm letting the hints above go for now, but I don't want to see any more of them.

Personally, I thought the cutest parts were Nodoka standing up to um, eagle haired girl while Saki was hiding behind her, and Touka's "undercover" style complete with personal butler.

Yuki and her taco power were pretty funny too. I'm sad they changed the line in the anime to the president commenting about her line up being correct instead of the "they're getting exorcised" in the manga. I found that particularly funny esp. since it seems like at the end of every round, the other three schools' representatives have metaphorical ghosts coming out of them.

I sort of want to hear more of Fujita pro's comments, esp. on the president's playing style (esp. since apparently the two are friends!), but I guess that defeats the purpose since the anime went out of its way to avoid showing the president's skill.

I can't wait to hear Fujita's commentary on Nodoka. So far, she hasn't been impressed even with Yuki's taco power... Hopefully, with the consistent hammering of the other three schools, we'll get to hear some respect from her.

Well, episode 6 definitely demonstrated why it's always a good thing to have a solid tactician among your teammates. Hisa (club leader) might not be the best mahjong player out there, but she does have an awesome way of using strategy to tilt things in the club's favor.

I also had fun watching Touka being the delusional person she is. Minori Chihara's performance is very much unlike her Yuki persona in Haruhi.

I was trying to figure out why I found Tōka Ryūmonbuchi's voice acting so grating and awful in episode 06 so I went to ANN to found out who did her. Chihara Minori....now it all makes sense. Perfect sense in fact.

Her role reminded me of Koihime Musou's Enshou.

The second ED, "Zankoku na Negai no Naka de" is going to be the B-side to "Netsuretsu Kangei Wonderland", which releases at the end of this month. I'm looking forward to it. (Of course, it being the end of the month, there's a lot around that time I have to look forward to.)

Nice episode 7, though I think the pacing is kinda awkward at points, feels like they're dragging out some scenes to last the distance.

Anyway,

Spoiler for Ep 7:

You aren't the only one. I'm still amazed that they have only come out with one figure that has the penguin and they still aren't making the plushy as a character good.

Seems like next week will be anime original episode. Let's see how it will turn out.

And they should stop increasing Nodoka's bust size.
