Or it was loot that he hadn't gotten around to selling yet...

It's said that the number 1 console manipulation by Skyrim players is to increase the carry weight to bring home more loot. ;p

I'm of the same idea as you that they were just rare items Kirito hadn't gotten around to selling yet. On another note there's something in the LN pertaining to inventory space that I would like to share since it is spoiler free. I hope the admins don't delete it since it does only appear in the LN, however as it only pertains to inventory space in SAO hopefully they'll let it slide. Just in case I am going to put it in spoiler tags:

Spoiler for Vol 1 Ch 2 Inventory Space:

For reference, that single line of text occurs when Klein was complaining about his pizza getting cold (episode 1 before being ported to the city), and as such contains zero spoilers or speculation, has zero plot relevance nor is it ever mentioned again. It only gives a tiny bit of info about the inventory system in SAO. A minor detail, if you will.

Wasn't the desire for higher quality porn the main expediter for the development of DVDs and Blu-Ray?

I can't even imagine what the demand for VR porn would be... Once that kind of technology is developed, VRMMO's would come soon after.

Rather than say porn it's the end of humanity, you can say it drives technological innovation!

If VRMMORPGs ever do exist in my lifetime, oh man... the hours I would waste playing. I don't care how old I am, I would play the crap out of a VRMMORPG. I already am a fan of MMOs but something truly immersive like SAO would probably awe me completely like it did for Klein on his first day, just staring across the vast field of a new world, with infinite possibilities before you. Even though I'd love to play a game like SAO something with magic and long range skills would be even better!

My name is Kirito and today after logging into my favorite VRMMO I ported to floor 69, unofficially known as the red light district of SAO. I went to my favorite brothel and whipped out a few coins worth 100k col each and told my two lady friends that I was renting them out for the entire night. "Awwww yeaaaahh!"

On a serious note, I wonder if SAO had any prostitutes. It is the oldest job known to mankind after all and I doubt you could transmit diseases in a virtual setting. Seems like it would be easy money.

i doubt it since Kayaba doesn't seem like the type. It would defintely something to experiment with by other VRMMORPG when the Seed was disperse.

Something like the VRMMORPG in real life would either make Sex Crimes worst (encouraging bad behavior) or better (giving a VR outlet to people who needs it).

If there's anything you learn from SAO, it's that if VRMMORPGs come out you stay the hell away from it Or give it 2-3 years to make sure it's bug free and/or no Kayaba-equivalents will mess you up.

Or: never buy a console that has the specs to microwave your brain.

Honestly, even if it would end in a death game like with SAO, I would buy it instantly. Fuck real life!!

This, basically. In real life SAO would not happen since the device would have to be certified as being safe for users. Not to mention that it takes a lot of people to produce even a prototype, so the information would leak eventually.

A certain member of a certain game company: NerveGear can kill people!
Internet users: That guy is nuts.
Public after launch: It's a trap!

But if VR games come out, I'd definitely buy them, if the title is SAO, I'll leave it unpacked

In my opinion SAO is . . . well yet another anime with fantasy rpg story, in addition of it being VRMMORPGs.

What is the main factor of the anime that make you keep watching (well I'm expecting, it's not because you read LN )?

For me It's because ermm . . . Asuna . To be exact, the romance development between Kirito and Asuna (yet if any).

The fact that it's about an MMO - that alone is enough for me to watch it. Everything else is just icing on the cake.

I like the details given to the game mechanics. Things like needing a high listening skill to listen through doors (unless you knock first). The story's at its best when it's focusing on how unrealistic the game is, as opposed to just being a simulation of reality.
