Okay, watched episode 6.

Seems a bit strange that Masako has a penguin like the siblings.

Ringo had an older sister named Momoka, who was friends with Tabuki in elementary school. She's deceased. It's what caused her parents to split up, because they had a disagreement about moving on from Momoka's death.

Oh, and Ringo's only acting out what the "fate diary" says because she's under the insane belief that if she "becomes one with Momoka" by getting with Tabuki then her parents will get back together and stop fighting.

I fail to see Ringo's logic here.

Just watched episode 6 and things are certainly heating up.

So it seems that Ringo is trying to become her big sister Momoka based on what she has written in her diary before her unfortunate death. That explains why she stalks Tabuki 24/7, while trying to make sure fate is kept intact by putting herself in Momoka's shoes to make everyone happy once again. She believes that if she can replicate Momoka, while being Ringo as well. Her father will come back and they will all become a happy family again without anyone else fighting. Since the father left, the mother started feeling extremely guilty about what she has done and decides to take care of Ringo instead of constantly complain and cling onto Momoka when it's clear that she will not return.

It could be seen that Momoka could in fact have something to do with that 4th penguin we saw. Proceeding with her plans while trying to make sure she is kept safe so she is indirectly attacking Kanba with those penguin bullets of memory erasing! Eventually he will start to grow paranoid about this whole penguin danger and back down leaving her scot-free.

So that explains why the Crystal Queen wants that diary so badly, it is tied by fate with the other penguin holder. While Ringo can't exactly fulfill that desire of hers to combine with Momoka unless this whole ordeal is finally settled with.

Also, did anyone else get a quick laugh from what was behind her diary?

I came into the thread to express my enjoyment over this week's episode and then I saw this. Congratulations, I'm now laughing uncontrollably and no longer have anything to say.

I'm going to have to watch again but that voice in the beginning didn't sound like Ringo's. I wonder if there's some spiritual connection she has with Momoko, from sleeping with the diary, and that along with Ringo's own desire for a happy family is what's fueling her lunacy.

Edit: Watching that "fever" scene again and Ringo does sound like the voice in the beginning. Her VA certainly has a nice vocal range.

Oh hey, that's me during valentines, christmas, new years and basically other stupid holidays...

Anyways on-topic. The series has been confirmed for 24 episodes (dunno if it has been mentioned already in this thread) so even though they haven't show much of Himari's and her brothers' pasts there is still plenty of time to do that. The scene with Masako shooting those girls with whatever she had felt a bit weird but hilarious nonetheless. The execution of events in this particular episode regarding Ringo's past was done nicely. We have yet to see the exact relationship her late sister had with Tabuki. I kinda doubt it was romantic and hope Ringo gets over her obsession. I'm really hoping for a Shouma x Ringo end

This weeks episode certainly brought this show to the next level. Basically, Ikuhara isn't holding back. What with the plushie flashback and that fabulous stalker scene. Just when you thought Ringo couldn't get anymore.. yeah.

& those penguinballs. Those penguinballs!

Ok, that was an amazing episode. Definitely worth the two weeks wait. As others had already guessed, the diary belonged to Momoka, Ringo's sister. She's been trying to accomplish the future written in this diary thinking she can become her sister and that it will prevent her family from drifting apart. A pretty touching story. She's still fucking nuts, though. Ringo, living under someone's house doesn't equal living with them

Natsume continues to be creepy (I loved the visuals during the "brainwashing" scene) and is revealed to have her own penguin, one that looks pretty evil. She has a project M of her own, which I'm guessing is more dangerous than Ringo's.

Wow, i'm absolutely loving how the story is turning more darkful and sinister. Ringo is freaking me out though terribly.

Edit: Reusing the survival strategy animation is getting real old real fast. I can't help but just face palm now that we always have to go through *insert name* stripping and people falling. I know they blew a ton of money making that scene but come on ya know. -_-''

Episode 6 was very enjoyable and exciting.

Breaking the episode up into two separate plotlines was a good approach, as I felt that they complimented each other.

Ringo is an extremely fun character, and the character reveals made about her in this episode made for some neat twists. I like how there's something more than just romantic idealism pushing her forward. As crazy and eccentric as Ringo is, her reasons for being that way encourage sympathy, and that's a good thing.

The plotline involving slingshot-with-a-scope girl was nicely mysterious, adding a lot of suspense. Just as some of Ringo's cards are revealed, a new person takes a seat at the Poker table, making some odd calls, leaving me in wonderment over what this player might be like, and what hand she might be holding. Again, good compliment and contrast.
