Mecha Anime Wanted!

Hi, I am looking for mecha anime to watch. But not just normal mecha anime. I would like a modern artwork mecha anime. Here are some examples of modern mecha anime I watched:

Full Metal Panic (all seasons)
Code Geass (all seasons)
Eureka Seven (all seasons)
Toppa Tengen Gurren Lagann
Muv-Luv Alternative: Total Eclipse
Mobile Suit Gundam 00
Aquarion (all seasons)

So basically, I just want a good looking anime. Old drawings really put me off for some reason. I tried watching the old gundam series and Evangelion but I couldn't finish the first episode correctly..

If you can help me with some suggestions, thanks!

Off the top of my head, I could think of Basquash, which had pretty awesome animation, just that it's mecha + basketball.

Samurai 7 : Adaptation of the classic movie with a mecha twist.

Ghost in the Shell (all seasons) : definition of good looking! Check the 2nd movie, GITS: Innocence out, the animation is incredibly detailed, a work of pure art.

Macross Frontier: The latest installment in this popular franchise, worth checking out, at least the soundtrack is worth it.

Ummm if the art in Evangelion seems dated to you then I'm a little bit stunned by your idea of dated but...

There is a remake of the Evangelion series called Evangelion 2.0 that has new animation and is supposed to be pretty good, though I haven't actually seen it myelf.

I second Star Driver.

Also check out Zegapain, really liked the story in this one. Not really hard core Mecha and more serious than other mecha anime but people dealing with a dystopia
