Lightbulb Increase possible image dimensions for user albums

This request is regarding the albums every user can have.
I can understand setting a maximum file size of 100kB, as you might not have that much space on the server and thus must limit the file size.

However, the limitation of the possible image dimensions to tiny 800x600 seems unreasonable. That was ok many years ago, but nowadays, a lot already have big monitors with 1680x1050 or 1920x1200 (some have even more).

Therefore, I would like to request for the possible image dimensions in user albums to be increased to 1280x960. That way, you would be able to post screenshots of anime episodes in their original size of 1280x720, the most frequently used format for anime nowadays.

お願いします m__m

I believe the limitation is there to prevent the sharing of high quality scans, etc.

How can the scans be high quality if the size limit is 100kB ? I don't use the image albums but I really don't see a reason why they can't be increased. Besides high quality scans are with insane dimensions like 4000x6000 or something, inreasing the dimension to atleast 1280x720 shouldn't be too much to ask for, or even bigger like 1600x1050.

That's a reasonable justification for making a change to the forum's settings, so provided there isn't a better reason not to, I'll increase the permitted dimensions shortly.
