The girl in the wheelchair also seems like she's a fighter since she's got a pilot type suit and they mention she's an operator of a mech (as long as by operator they mean pilot) and she seems pretty active in the art so with all those things she's totally different than a Nunnally-type, she looks like she'll be a very cool character. Can't wait for the show. I totally love the designs and the cool scifi setting they've creating and what sounds like an exciting rebellion story. With so much of it looking so good and promising, the only thing I'm a bit worried about going in now since it sticks out so much is the whole so overdone "hero doesn't just meet a girl he conveniently meets and becomes the love interest of the best girl/hottest girl in school/idol" thing as a lazy shortcut to creating a love interest especially if they use it as a crutch. I love Inori's design but did they have to make her an idol singer? I almost totally agree, except for the new Last Exile which I think has the best. Guilty Crown's art's stunning, these two shows have the best art this fall IMO. Last edited by DangerMouse; 2011-10-09 at 14:30. |

This series looks interesting. Seems different enough from cg. I hope the main female character isn't a damsel in distress/weak type though. Also hope the main guy isn't a wimp either. Nothing can ruin an anime for me quite like having obnoxious main characters.

Guilty Crown is getting extremely good review from its premiere event. Like, almost Fate/Zero level when it also had its premiere. They said 1st and 2nd episodes were all shown in that screening, and both had almost movie quality sakuga. Now I'm genuinely interested. If story doesn't screw up my taste, it would be amazing.

I find it amusing that only now are 2ch people starting to take note of NoitaminA. I guess to get the good ratings Fuji TV really had to reevaluate the kinds of series they should put into their anime block this year.
I'm glad the production quality is good. Hoping the story is to my taste.

Now it seems that producer changed their mind. Recent noitaminA series such as AnoHana and Guilt Crown, is far from what noitaminA block supposed to show. I like past noitaminA better when it had series that are ordinary, non-otaku-pandering but realistic, quiet, deep and heartwarming. Not saying I don't like new path that noitaminA taken. It's just that I think noitaminA series lost its own charm that it used to have.

Anyway, I wont hold anything against the show itself, since everything I heard and learned about it makes me excited from the start. From the concept to the audiovisuals to the cast ... granted I'm banking more on Un-Go being the better show (since it's closer to older noitaminA fare) but this show at the very least be an entraining watch.

But with Guilty Crown I am seeing absolutely nothing that makes me think noitaminA or the reason I became a fan of the block in the first place back when Honey & Clover aired. Guilty Crown might turn out to be a great show (although I am less enthused about it than most on here) but I wish we could get the old noitaminA back. But well I guess times change.

Even Un-Go doesn't fit my idea of what noitaminA was originally about. Although it is closer than Guilty Crown.

Since it went 2shows per season:
19 House of Five Leaves 20 The Tatami Galaxy 21 Moyashimon (live-action) 22 Shiki 23 Kuragehime 24 Fractale 25 Wandering Son 26 [C] 27 Ano Hi Mita Hana no Namae o Bokutachi wa Mada Shiranai 28 Bunny Drop 29 No. 6 I don't really think AnoHana or Kuragehime were that far off some "noitaminA standard" that applejuice described (if there really is one) but the other bolded ones sure should easily qualify. The upcoming 2 seasons would be the first (let's forget Moyashimon live-action ever existed) that may not have one to fit (but I'd still wait for UN-GO to actually air). But seriously about that "noitaminA standard" that applejuice described - where do you put ayakashi and MoNoNoKe? Did anyone complain about those being on noitaminA? I don't think anyone did... I'd recommend simply complaining about shitty shows being on noitaminA... |

Shows like Guilty Crown can easily be on another block, I don't really understand what it is doing on noitaminA except to show that the block is definitely changing. And no one is complaining, we are just saying we are worried about the direction the block is going in.
