Oh, and I forgot one thing. There is another character, called "Daedalus Yumeno" (DEDARUSU YUMENO).
Now, I simply love how Japanese names can be literal, which Yumeno Daedalus coming out as "yume no Daedalus" ("The Dream of Daedalus"). Also, I assume you know who Daedalus was, right? (But just in case: he was the father of Icarus). 8) |

I think this anime is pretty interesting. Interesting choice of op/ed themes, interesting animation, nice designs, and just a wonderful atmosphere. I understood what was going on perfectly, and, well, though I'm not REALLY looking forward to the next ep (because I'd make myself suffer) I was quite pleased by ep 1. I had been looking at this for quite some time and it didn't disappoint at all.

"Paranoid Android" is not the OP.
Because the website (http://www.wowow.co.jp/anime/ergopro...ion/index.html) claims that it's the "Main Theme", while kiri's MONORAL is the "Opening Theme". I think people are really confused by ANN. |

BTW, there seems to be a confusion about the spelling of the word "autoreiv" (images are clickable).
As you can see, it is clearly "AUTOREIV". However, this shot has confused people into spelling it as "AUTOLAVE" We can debate, which is the real spelling here, but I am more inclined towards "autoreiv" because there are numerous instances where the word is abbreviated as "AR". So, "autoreiv" must be the correct version. Also, Ril's grandfather's name is Donov (according to his file on WOWOW's website). Last edited by MrProphet; 2006-02-13 at 22:20. |

I hear you, but "autorave" does sound better and more of an Americanized interpretation and since i am American and am more partial to like-terms I'll go with "autorave"...Always people wanna go their own path (I'm no exception I guess^^)...But I'm comfortable with Lir and autorave...just sounds better to me than the interpretations we have yet to see...

I have a bunch of episode 1 screencaps here
Although, by now I thought quite a lot of the major blogs have some kind of a entry on Ergo Proxy. Maybe I'm reading the anime blogosphere too much... http://blogsuki.com/ |

Well it looks like this show aired a little bit earlier then everyone expected. This show is just so damn pretty! And the setting really reminds me of "I Robot" i'm just waiting for Will Smith to jump out now.

Still, the sound is good enough when you include Radiohead ... duh! Hits like 'Creep,' 'Fake Plastic Trees,' and 'Paranoid Android' should tell you how good the music is already. 'Creep' is one of the best rock songs.

Here is a lazy-friendly JPEG link for most of the images posted by MrProphet.
The unusual length of the series might be an indication that the animators have already finished animating the entire series and that, the story is going to unfold at a very nice, deliberately purposeful pace without wasting a single episode. One of the reason why I liked GITS so much!
